As per Naga tradition, women wrestling may be a foreign culture not a Naga's tradition if I am not mistaken!

Woman wrestling is not practice by our forefathers so this is is definitely not a culture thing for naga women

It seems like you're reflecting on the changes in Naga wrestling, particularly the shift from its original form to one that incorporates foreign styles and more inclusive participation, such as women and potentially LGBTQ+ wrestlers. This shift might be seen by some as a dilution of the traditional values and cultural identity associated with the game. In indigenous cultures, sports and games often hold significant cultural and historical value, and any changes to these traditions can raise concerns about the loss of authenticity and identity. The introduction of new participants or styles may be viewed by some as a break from the past, while others might see it as an evolution that opens the sport up to a wider community. This is a complex issue, and the future of Naga wrestling will likely depend on how the community balances tradition with progress, preserving the core values while adapting to changing times.

True. While it's nice to see the women challenging society stereotypes and challenges, some practices are better left as it is. Maybe they could've change the name of the women wrestling tournament to other and not categorised into the "Naga style wrestling" as Naga style wrestling has a rich history dating back since time immemorial and its a "Man sport" and there's no record of women participating. Sometimes/something are better left as it is. Just my thought.

This is belt wrestling with international rules and regulations. It is also very similar to our Naga Wrestling. However distinction should be made between our "Naga traditional wrestling" and other Traditional wrestling games. The usage of "Naga wrestling" along with other rules and regulation should be avoided otherwise our unique Naga traditional wrestling would just be simply called as belt wrestling. Perhaps today's game could be best describe as Hornbill International Traditional Wrestling Championship and not as Hornbill International NAGA wrestling championship!! Just my opinion. I could be wrong.🙂

Yes Wrestling was not made for woman in nagaland. BUT who actually cares???? Y'all mindset is so backward. It actually is embarrassing. We are not in the 90s anymore. Everything is changing and just because the girls are wrestling isn't gonna affect YOU or the naga men's wrestling. Keep your negative opinions to yourself and stop discouraging the girls who wants this!

I really don't like this woman wrestling, where as the man lost the higher status, man should have one thing different but now everything is equal to man. This is what woman come to rule the society. Politic no difference, games n sports now equal, education equal, in church ordian minister equal to man to some tribe, a man should have one higher status in one things .
