Suspect that if local control were an “absolute winner” it wouldn’t require videos to sell the idea.

It's called advertising - by your logic, private companies shouldn't make adverts either as their products should be able to sell on their own merit 🤔 Bus usage has plummeted in the UK thanks to control being taken away from local authorities (but not in London as even Thatcher realised it was a daft idea to hobble the capital of the country) - taking it back is totally sensible and is what happens in most other countries, even the USA.

What a strange thing to say. Publicising that the first new route since reregulation has now started operating is a logical thing to do. It makes the public aware that improvements are happening and that a new service now exists that they may want to use. Why would TfGM not want to do this?!

@@andrewholland1390 in my apparently deleted posts I noted that publicising a new route is sensible. Publicising it on KZbin? Look at the numbers. They speak for themselves. Pardon the pun, but whichever route you choose to publicise this new route, KZbin is not it. At a time of financial constraint you need to be evidence based and produce measurable and demonstrable positive outcomes. Clearly not the case here.

Absolutely fascinating how my posts keep being removed. Checked with KZbin and there are no breaches so it’s looking like spite or discomfort.

@@iamjoestafford let’s post a third time then. Your post is incorrect. Bus usage peaked in 2008 and cannot therefore have been in decline since deregulation. It was certainly in decline because of austerity, Covid and the cost of living crisis. My “logic” was about claiming a win for deregulation based on a small amount of anecdotal evidence and advertising a route in a place where potential users clearly are not. A poor use of public money.
