I played Smoker at a Starter Deck Event and I loved it! I play Bonney at the moment, but I’m slowly transitioning to Smoker, would love to see Local and SIM play for some inspo 🔥

Yea I have a Bonney deck half built (the other half are the cavendish lol). But yea I love playing smoker. More gameplay coming for sure!

Jack is a must have in these decks as they help with a lot of the match ups. I would also recommend 2 cost Helmeppo that -3 cost things on play as u can use it to combo from moria. Great deck profile

Yea I think the Jack is back in for sure. I’m trying to see if it’s worth it to go 1-of both Hina and Helmeppo. Worst case I might reduce the Koby or Sengoku. Of course I’ll show whatever changes I finally land on in my next upload

@@Ablaster5 Could you explain to me in which MU‘s Jack is good and why? Maybe I‘m overlooking something. How you use him? For example against Doffy (who‘s characters come rested anyway and you can just swing at them) but also against Shanks/BB/Robin/Enel/Bonney/whatever. Would be nice for me to learn something new because right now I don‘t like Jack so much in the deck

Definitely run 2 Jacks at least, I’m not big of great of a fan of the Kaido. Also 5c sabo can be important as a 1-2 of. To cycle out & prevent k.o on the black match up

Gj beating the pb luffy, that +1 is brutal (and gum gum giant is a dumb card), i'd say shanks is unfavourable too, so ggs on that one. I just got into the game (had my 3rd event on monday) but managed to 4-0 and win my locals with smoker. But tbh I got very lucky and played against 3 other rogue decks and a shanks. I run a very different list from yours, I took out the isshos, 8c sabos and sakazukis and put in 2 jacks and 2 kaidos, as my locals have a few blackbeards, and it just feels bad to have so many dead cards (people dont seem to play much doflamingo either oddly). miss issho against enel or BY luffy, but i just found him not doing much too often, where as kaido has been really clutch. also yeah agree on match up strategy. with shanks clear board and try and swarm so that you can pressure him, and his leader ability isn't as impactful . easier said than done with his good removal like benn beckman, but that's the game plan at least. then when he's low enough just go for the kill, as he's probably only dropping one body a turn (which means 1 removal). just watch out for random gol d roger haha edit: also if he has 2 don up, remember to pre-emptively get your 5ks to 6 before that first swing so gum gum red hawk cant kill them with his leader ability doffy clear board as much as you can and try and starve, make him use his characters to swing, so you can take them out on the crack back, and make him choose between going low cards, or losing his board. Best feeling is when you make them commit super hard to save their cards from swings, then just ko them with a kobby anyway haha. but it's doffy, it's the best deck in the game for a reason, he's going to consistently keep refilling that board every turn and sometimes you just dont have the answers -_-

Yea I actually updated the list removing those same cards and added Jack, my last Sengoku and something else…maybe a borsalino? But yea that red hawk tech is crucial. I saw that in a gameplay and the light bulb just went off! Those are the awareness pieces I’m trying to build up. Same as swinging heavier to bait that gum gum giant (I agree, silly card lol). But yea, if we see the right pieces, going body for body against Shanks or PBluffy doesn’t feel too bad.

nice one. hope it works for you. it all comes down to what you usually play against, people in my locals prefer to play tall than wide, and i was having a hard time removing big bodies, so thats why i made the switch. But if they all went doffy, then putting stuff like the 8c sabos would be really good. Yeah i think 4 sengoku is the way to go, the draw 3(while curating your trash) is very good. biggest issue i have with him is having a hard time choosing what to get rid of haha re the red hawk: unfortunatly i fell victim to it, so had to learn the lesson the hard way. for some reason in my head i had thought the shanks can only -1k the attacking card (probably because 99% of the time thats what they are using it on), forgetting that he can -1k whatever card he wants zzz. i still need more experience in the match ups, i found both tough and would say smoker is unfavoured, but i could just be playing them wrong. pb luffy has so much draw, he can also get to his big bodies so fast that i sometimes just cant remove them with the +1or it's incredibly costly. ah see my approach against the giants is to actually just annoy them with a bunch of 7k swings, so they never get full efficiency from it or have to give me multiple cards. either way they commit 2 cards, not sure if that's correct, but it's the most don efficient way of whittling down their hand (unless it's final swing obviously)

I know i am kind of late to post anything you might possibly respond to. I tried teching in 8c issho and it has worked wonders for me against doffy. Doffy players tend to stack cards and issho forces a discard 2 from their hand. I give issho 1 extra don and he drops all characters your opponent controls by 3 making all characters doffy has on play easy pickings for brook. It is 100% situational and you pretty much have to decide between a gecko moria play or bringing out issho. Kaido is pretty much a must have in the deck if you want to come anywhere near close to killing a Marshall D Teach. Issho is also searchable by brannew since he is a navy card.

Yea I agree, I have a tough time finding room for Issho though. I mean, maybe drop the Sengoku back down to 3? Big bodies right now are 4 Gecko, 2 Kaido and 1 Jack. Don’t love 1-ofs but I can grab Jack with Rebecca

I main Shanks and it's always an annoying but fun time playing against Smoker! Tashigis are so good and such a headache to play against lol

I have found Jack to be useful against Doffy at locals, they go rabid to remove it.

yeah agreed, jack is very helpful as with leader ability it's just a free ko. his cycling effect is also helpful for filling trash if you havent been able to get the right cards there for moria (or if you havent found a moria at all)

Yea I just slotted another Jack in (1-of since I can grab it off Rebecca if I end up trashing it). Hurt to not have it in my list since it’s also the AA lol. But yea easy two bodies between LEAD, established Jack and a tashigi

@@thatbriteguy he works well with kuzan too, as can take down a 7 cost, or 8 cost with kuzan swing and leader ability. im running 2, 3 felt a bit too bricky.
