Star Wars Day at Sea kicked off this week on the Disney Fantasy cruise ship. Guests can find roaming characters, including these First Order Storm Troopers during the one day per sailing (8 sailings total) that is dedicated to Star Wars. It was great fun watching them interact with guests (and engaging them ourselves).

i allways wonder wouldn't it be better to simply put in voicechangers into their helmets so the actors themselves could react to the people arround? i think that would be better than all these pre recorded phrases.

As a former cast member who used to work at Star Tours, Lucasfilm is VERY SERIOUS when it comes to only having pre approved material used. They can't take the risk of the performer going off script and possibly directly or indirectly causing problems, plus they have to sound just right.

Conscripted as soldiers, they were trained since birth, given unit designations instead of names, and subjected to years of propaganda to ensure their loyalty and obedience to the First Order and Supreme Leader Snoke. They are most definitely operating in a security capacity to guard against rebel children and giant talking mice, and not merely an attraction. Although, the elite men of the Stormtrooper Corps are quite the chick magnet, if I do say so myself.
