First Polaris RZR XP 4 1000 Ride, Here's What Happened

We had our First ride in the Polaris RZR XP 1000 4! Initial Impressions were not exactly what I was expecting...here is how it went

We Finally managed to get our hands on the Polaris RZR XP 1000 4! It was an absolute blast...especially considering we got to test it out along the Spearhead trail System in Saint Paul, VA.
While I had expected the RZR XP 1000 4 to be a good ride, I did not expect it to be this good. I thought with it being a 4 seater as well as a heavier machine, it would be harder to drive and just not as much fun. I was definitely wrong! While the Polaris RZR 4 Seater is definitely bigger and heavier than the 2 seater it still handles and rides great. I expected the XP 1000 4 to not have near as much instant power as it did, nor handle so good. So I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
The biggest issue I had with it while on the trail is the terrible turning radius. We rode trail with quite a few switchbacks, and there were often times this longer Polaris RZR required me to backup and make the switchbacks a two-turn operation. Something a shorter machine would have probably handled without issue.Other than this one major issue though, it exceeded my expectations in almost every way.
As someone who has never driven a 4seater side by side, I expected it to be much less fun than it was. I have always thought the larger 4 seat UTV's were just too big and clunky to truly have fun on...I was wrong. This Polaris RZR XP 100 4 Seater was an absolute blast, and it has really made me give more thought to the awesomeness of 4 seaters.

I have the XP 4 1000 Turbo and really like the machine. I put the extended fenders and lower doors on it and it made a world of difference in the amount of dirt and mud staying off your body. I also have the full windshield which is great in the winter time but an issue with dust when following somebody on a dusty trail, you’ll need to clean it a few times during the ride. Yes on tight switchbacks you may have to back up once for the turn but no big deal. More power than you’ll ever need and response is excellent. It will keep up with any number of other types of UTV’s out there and will go anywhere they go, even up riverbeds over the bigger rocks, we all bumped the bottoms but it went right along with the two seaters and other 4 seaters. The ride is excellent and adjustable, very pleased and no issues in 800 miles. I did put a partial separator on it with the unit up by the roof and have not had any dust or dirt issues on the stock filter.

Hi great vid just subscribed. I have a 4 seat turbo s and love the way it rides. 2 kids love the back seat. Cruise around with family and rippin with my friends. Best of both worlds for me. Hope you get one, you will not regret it

If you like the 4 seaters look into the new yamaha wolverine x4. They are shorter, kind of like a teryx with nice seats on all 4 corners.

@@RicktheKing I think the top speed is like 50 stock. But they ain't built for speed, built for tight trails. Only has an 850cc motor not 1000cc

im really considering one of the short wheelbase 4 seaters. I cant get past the length of the Polaris models, they are just too long. i dont need to go 80mph with my family in a sxs the 50 mph from the 3 Jap brands is fine. Leaning toward the wolverine x4

@@jeremyschmidt4449 i really like the Teryx but its very noisy and the heat issue would make me regret buying it. its too bad too because other than those 2 things i like it the best. i just know it would drive me crazy not being able to talk to my family while out riding, ruins the experience.

We owned a 900s 4 seater, only time we had issues was tight trails with trees. Longer wheelbase handles hills better and makes climbing things easier. Next one will be an XP4 1000 or XPT 4. You want gigantic, look at the x3 4 seater...
