Ukraine War was started by U.S. in 2014 when they couped the government, and Victoria Nuland hand-picked a comedic actor by the name of Zelensky to play a puppet in the new show which initiated a civil war between Ukrainians and ethnic Russians involving Nazis killing Russians (all over again) in the Donbass region of Ukraine. It didn't start with Putin invading. A lot of shit went down over several years to get it to that point. The Minsk Agreement between NATO and Russia was admitted later by the West as being a stalling tactic to give Ukraine time to build an army with Nato (U.S.) weapons and training to fight this proxy war against Russia. Most Americans don't know. Biden knows or USED to know. Trump, like most Americans, probably doesn't care to know. The war is about weakening Russia, and more importantly, separating Europe from Russia economically and keeping the U.S. hegemony as well as a boom for the military industrial complex and Daddy Warbucks. The people in power in the U.S. are willing to destroy Ukraine to weaken Russia and line their own pockets but it's backfiring spectacularly. Notice how Putin will negotiate but the U.S. will not? You have to be north of a certain age to believe in a domino theory where Putin is the second coming of Hitler who won't stop until he dips his toes in the English Channel.

The debate is pointless without a fact checker, if the candidates can tell outrageous lies, i.e Trump on "most jobs going to illegal immigrants", Biden about Ukraine being a "democracy", it´s all meaningless.

We need to be honest with ourselves. Most voters aren’t going to be familiar with the statistics regardless, nor are they going to listen to debate analysis after the fact. In effect, every lie that went unchallenged in the debate is a lie that most voters won’t care to fact check. Yes, Trump lied to no end, but he did so confidently. Biden had the truth on his side, but he sounded strained and stuttered. At the end of the day, these two things are all that matters in debates of this format. We don’t have to like it, but we do have to accept that that’s how the vast majority of people are going to remember this debate. It’s not the end of the world though. Our only saving graces are the facts that (1) this is taking place over four months before the election, and so will have a very limited influence on voters’ perceptions of the candidates (if any), and (2) very few undecided voters actually pay attention to the debates, let alone have their minds changed if they already lean towards one candidate.

This was such a disturbing and unfortunate debate. We need to start with the premise that the American people in evaluating a debate are not exactly sophisticated. Many viewers regularly watch Fox or other clones. Biden, with his weak voice and passive, at times looking befuddled, appearance just completely blew the opportunity. I know Joe Biden, and I know what a good and capable president he has been. He needed a State-of-the-Union-type performance and didn't come close. He looked feeble. That is not going to cut it. During the debate, I found myself imagining how a Gavin Newsom would respond to Trump's gross lies. Newsom would have destroyed Trump. There was so much low-hanging fruit that Biden did not take advantage of. I hate to say it, but the Dems need to look at replacing Biden.

i watched the debate -- with trepidation, anxiety, sorrow, fear My conclusion: we can't afford to let Trump win; therefore Biden cannot remain as the Democratic candidate. It's not his age -- I'm older than he is -- but there's something wrong with him, and his decline since the State of the Union speech is shocking. He is an honourable man who has done a remarkable job of restoring the country these last four years -- but to my sorrow, he can no longer do the job. The powers that be in the Democratic party no doubt hoped that whatever is affecting him would proceed more slowly, but at this point it's obvious that won't happen. If we are to defeat Trump -- and we must -- somehow another candidate must be selected -- and s/he must have Bidens's decency as well as the energy, smarts and confidence to handle the complex challenges we face. The debate was so painful to watch, I must say (a duo total failure)!!😢 I love Joe. He is a nice man, very honest, and has been a great president without a doubt. Right now, he has to step down because a lot is at stake (democracy, Supreme court judge appointments which we are already trailing, our country and our futures, etc) and we cannot afford to blow it. Let's be honest, knowing what is at stake, it will be selfish of him not to gracefully step aside after this term. It's a patriotic thing to do and will be highly and forever commendable. We need somebody like Michelle Obama, Akin Jeffrey, Josh Shapiro, Mike Cuban, or someone else that is great, bold, tough, and sharp ... Definitely not a boring, weak, confused, and push-over politician. We must do something now... there is no spinning it this time... Somebody please help us...🥺😢 This is beyond urgent!!!😭😭

Thank you for your comments of the debate. I would’ve appreciated more volume on your part because you didn’t come across over the Trump voice on KZbin. Debate debate did not make me change my mind about who I’m voting for. I’m voting blue all the way up and down the ballot and have donated to the national Democratic committee twice so they could flow the dollars the way they felt it would be best used. I also donated to Katie Porter who unfortunately didn’t win the primary for California senator. Thanks again for your coffee clutches and this one as well! Live long and prosper! It doesn't really matter what was said here. No one is going to see past how incompetent Biden is showing himself to be. He should step down immediately, we have to get a new younger, sharper candidate. Let's not get lost in an intellectual study of the policies here, people aren't going to get that far. Biden is a great guy, done so much for the country. We just can't afford a Trump win.

I agree in principal. But i don't know if that's really possible anymore. I feel like it might be a detriment to Democrats to do that this late in the game. Biden should have declared in year 3 that he would not seek another term. Make it a big press conference, and say it was time to pass it on to a new generation. That way, he could make age an issue against Trump. But 5 months out from the election? I think it's too late.

We do have a Vice President. Her name is Kamala Harris. And this is why we have a Vice President. To take over if something happens to the President. Kamala was Joe Biden's choice. She has been learning from him every step of the way. Because that is the kind of guy Joe Biden is. She will have Joe's staff to stand behind her and support her. Michelle Obama’s name is coming up in several places as a substitute for Biden. She is the most admired and respected person in the world and the most popular Democrat in the US. She should be the candidate. Now all we have to do is convince her to run. I think an administration with her as president and Biden as Secretary of State would be ideal. If Michelle runs, I am not sure if Harris should stay in as the VP candidate and maybe a man like Gavin Newsom would be a better choice. Let’s work on such a plan.

I missed the live feed. I had you curd up on the phone, but when I moved to the TV, I couldn’t find the link. I came back this morning for the analysis. I wish I had had you in the corner because I got quite upset at Trump’s lies, yelling at the TV. I also thought Biden looked like a corpse, I became quite concerned that he appeared weak compared to Trump’s vigorous nonsense. The commentary on CNN was all about the panic in the Democratic Party and the prospect of replacing Biden on the ticket.
