I think in some sports, Amateurs' are only allowed to receive a certain amount of the prize money. In Golf, an amateur can play in any event, if they qualify, but a pro can't play in an amateur event, unless they are reinstated as an amateur. If there is no amateur event, that Julia needs to compete in, as an amateur, then it shouldn't matter. I think the term in play, is "competitive surfer". Which Julia certainly is. She rides with style!

In Nascar you arent pro until you have a team and run full time. Here maybe if she attends contest full time would make a pro. And some great sponsors wouldn't hurt.
