I thought the female teenage Sea Lion was dragging something behind her, did any of you see it? It was slowing her down while she was riding the out going tide into the water! It was pretty dang big and It looked like someone was rolling bowling balls down the embankment at her The other day my wife, who is a marine biologist told me something I didn't know, female Sea Lions have huge balls. I said, no doubt hun!

Back before all the sand came in, 1000 Steps Beach used to have an A frame side wave too. But with a natural rock reef. I think all that sand came down from when they brought sand into Seal Beach to save those houses. Those reefs use to have alot of Abalone.

This looks like one of the best, cleanest big days I have ever seen. That first wave was awesome, to bad he got the speed wobble and could not make a bottom turn, he would have had the biggest barrel of his life that he most likely would have come out of. 5☆ Nice job again guys with the video work!

Hard to believe people surf there. I had a great surfing trip to California. Long time ago. David Nueva (the Spiderman) was surfing between the piers at Huntington Beach the days I was there But nobody warned me about the effing Wedge. I saw the ambulance parked there but didn't think much about it. Until a gnarly little wave slammed me into the shore and knocked me unconcious. It was a fight for my life to wake up and escape before the next set sucked me back in. You guys and girls are crazy. I mean really. Go get em.

A tip for any body surfer that has to deal with a sponger trying to snake you, if they are near while you both are trying to catch the wave just take you hand and push down on the nose of the sponge and they will instantly stop.

OMG!!! I had an apartment about a block from the Wedge for some of the best years of my life in the early '90s. It has changed! The wildest, of course, would be super high tides and some storms heading in. BUT, the waves traveled N to S hit the Wedge and changed course diagonally north to the beach and just DUMPED onto a puffy foam of hard nothingness! When it was wild, it was wet suits, helmets, fins, & hardcore boogieboards. So something has really changed it! Did they redo the Gilligan's Island jettes at a different angle? Those 5 on surfboards all coming diagonal is the direction you'd ride after the wave first hit the jetty, but there was NEVER enough time to get up on a board & you NEVER got that long or gentle of a ride...ever. Miss those days and miss my life and my apartment! I lived to play when I was there! I left it for grad school (good) in NYC (sucked.) Came back south to Ocean Beach. The peninsula cannot be matched!

One day at the beach a man was coming out of water, while sliding to catch the wave. The wave exploded on his hip and the leg was displaced from it. He almost drawn in the shore. He was almost outside of the sea but the leg got so heavy that he couldnt come out. Thankfully there were a couple of persons to help him. He got very heavy. To see these waves splashing over the body of these guys hits me in the nerves.
