Every time I hear this song I end up crying. It reminds me a lot of my mother who passed away 8 years ago. She was very sick in the hospital, and it was she who gave us joy, encouragement and strength, in her last days of life. It is a beautiful song that talks about life and death, about people who die and their families who cry. We never forget them and they will always be in our hearts. Grettings from Spain.

Yes, it's a goodbye from someone who has passed to a loved one who remains behind, I think a spouse. There's the line, "Nuestro legado es sus ojos", or "Our legacy is his/her eyes". That always gets me.
