Thx for checking out NCT, in term of dancing NCT are ones of the best and respectful in KPOP. Actually you cant spell synchronization without N C T lol. NCT known for their in sync choreo, you should check out NCT 127 dance practice vid for Firetruck and Simon Says. Also NCT 2018 Black on Black which included 18 members of NCT, and NCT debut song NCT U - The 7th Sense (performance ver). But for this Kick It choreo, they are not really in sync intentionally. Brian Puspos is the choreographer of this piece and he is a former competitve dancer and the choreo has that dance battle vibe. This dancer reactor (Tofu) explained it all in his vid reaction. He was also a competitive dancer and he has reacted some of NCT dance practice vids kzbin.info/www/bejne/anzJlJJjZ7WohtU

friendly advice, jeff. As a first timer to NCT I don't want you to embarrass yourself (or take hits from offended fans!) by saying there is room for improvement with a bit of polishing & mirror time. NCT IDOLS live in a world of wall to wall mirrors with go pros trained on them 24/7, they know what they look like and can rewind to review every move they make. They are SO self aware. As for muscle memory & polish, your points are well taken for...aspiring dancers...but as so many have told you here...you REALLY DO NEED to see MORE of NCT to comment cause their dance skills (also rap skills singing skills style swag) are utterly MAD. (the running joke is that NCT127 practice with protractors) so KICK IT is an INTENTIONAL EXCEPTION to their rule. As, dance reactor Fresh Tofu explained clearly, KICK IT was INTENTIONALLY choreoed AS a fight/battle dance by a team of choreographers (including Brian Puspos) who wanted 100% on the stage & did not ASK for 127's distinctive idols to dance...as one. They wanted to see their killer instincts emerge...not pretty pictures...so the boys are working against normal DANCER instincts here. SM always reaches out to the best & brightest & shakes it up. the choreo for Kickit is an international fusion helmed by Jung Koosung who melded Quick Style Crew, Julian DeGuzman & Brian Puspos all of whom contributed to the flavor of the final product. THAT NCT 127 can embrace a merger like that is a true test of their versatility...and skillsets Also not to worry too much about Taeyong's leg. That move was Taeyong's OWN idea that HE cleared with Kickit lead choreographer, Jung Koosung, after fully discussing the risk vs dramatic impact it could have. Respecting Taeyong's confidence that they COULD do the move, Koosung let MarkYong decide about it. They decided to do it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXibl5iXbdx0bck Koosung felt confident because as he said in that interview, Taeyong "is passionate about dance, amazing, he has many ideas & he's AS good AS the Kickit choreographers" (Puspos was one of them) Taeyong has been choreographing his solos & for others (including Ten) since he was an SM rookie and he has NOW choreographed himself & his backup dancers (GTA) & his memorable "moves" in (No Manners) in SuperM. Taeyong knows what he is doing & what his own body can do. As for your concern that they might accidentally execute it unsafely, Koosung got ATTACKED by fans (like some here) for "letting" the boys do a move that would "hurt Taeyong" But AS the rehearsal choreographer WORKING with them to create the piece, HE felt confident that THEY could do it safely because THEY are SKILLED & EXPERIENCED kpop risk takers. Yes, accidents CAN happen, but Taeyong (blue hat) & Mark (leaper) don't make ill conceived or needless mistakes like that...ever. EXPERIENCE: Taeyong is NCT127's Leader who helmed his nine members through a us/world tour in 2019. He is their Main Dancer, Main Rapper, Center, Choreo Consultant & Dance Captain (some of those moves you like are his signatures & embellishments) Taeyong is also one of the four MAIN DANCERS in SUPER M (Taemin, Kai, Taeyong Ten) You didn't recognize (the leaper) as Mark Lee, who, with Lucas (WayV) & Baekhyun (EXO), make up the other very capable members in SuperM (their us/world tour is in progress). Mark is Taeyong's fellow MAIN RAPPER in NCT, his longtime Rap Duo partner, they finish each other's sentences. Ty & Mark have danced side by side since the 7th Sense & in their rap/dances they move together like one body. Mark is the dancer who leaps OVER Taeyong (red hair center) to do his solo in black on black. In short, concern noted, but there is no one Taeyong could trust more to execute a risky step safely ON his body. In terms of discovering NCT...to give you sa jumpstart: this is the kick it stage you need to see: KICK IT LIVE STAGE, NCT 127 kzbin.info/www/bejne/sGWmZZ6BYs9piJo Intro to NCT start here > (the MV is...more stunning) THE 7TH SENSE PERFORMANCE VIDEO NCT127U: Taeyong, Mark, Jaehyun, Doyoung + Ten kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4XQg2ClnLqLp9E This changed things THE 7TH SENSE MV, NCT U DEBUT kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYaqfneAbtCNeaM in sync then some SIMON SAYS , NCT127 DANCE PRACTICE kzbin.info/www/bejne/jpjPdWNrbZ5keZY this isn't for...everyone SIMON SAYS MV, NCT127 kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZzYeX-wgrKHkK8 superhumans in the states SUPERHUMAN, NCT127 ON JAMES CORDEN kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYnOgJZ9rdmKnLc To learn the members I suggest Cordens FLINCH game #RIPTAEYONG (it's hysterical) kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYi6hXmMqN1nq7s ALL 18 members of NCT BLACK ON BLACK, NCT18 kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3S8eWd8ZrB2rZo for dessert Taeyong doing a little hand tutting freestyle in front of the Louve (what blue hat guy makes up AS he dances it on the street) TAEYONG PARIS IN THE RAIN kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHnXqn-prqpnqas Welcome to NCT127, Jeff & Enjoy!

cyninshadows will definitely check out more of NCT to get a better understanding 👍🏽 I get what the choreographer is trying to do with this one because like I said in the video, there are a ton of moments that they are sync so it does seem intentional after being educated on it. My only thing is that in that case, this may not be a good intro song to new audience as those (few) moments of not being sync may appear messy. It’s very insider. Which is great for existing fans. It’s like Boy With Luv from BTS, it’s a song that does not necessarily represent BTS’ overall style or ability but it means something to the ARMY. So I definitely get it. But overall, I’m very impressed with these guys and as I’ve mentioned, looking forward to seeing more from them :)
@cyninshadows70414 жыл бұрын
@@JeffAvenue Well said! Always pleased to see a new dancer respond to the NCT Boys! There's a LOT of them (also a LOT of videos) so I hope these essential links & informative helpful fans here will give you a jumpstart cause NCT is also a LOT of fun to react to! First of all, there is NCT being...NCT. INDUSTRY: So, this time, is it gonna be about...concept or production values or styling or singing or rapping or dancing or martial arts or.... NCT: Yes. (They are never gonna settle for...comfortable) Not only is this concept melding martial arts & competitive dance vibe, but The Boys are shaking it up in the Neozone (second album) in content styles and also to give their many talented members chances to TRY "NewThangs". We've got Main Rappers singing and Vocalist rapping and The Main Dancer/Center & Main Singers stepping to the side to give others (everyone in NCT can dance & sing) more moments to shine. PLUS we've got the the "NCT Pillars" Taeyong & Mark bringing home what they've picked up touring with the Kpop Avengers in SuperM. I see you DO know about insider dancer stuff at play here, Jeff, so I really value your perspective. I also agree with you that this particular practice video could be misleading to NEW viewers for the good reasons you've given. Most of all I find your FRESH insight is VERY instructive because the dance line has...shifted...for this stage and you clearly SAW that. Each time you are happy (like the chorus) it's their leader/main dancer/center Blue Hat Taeyong...leading. When you are...not so much...it's other capable dancers like Yuta (orange) Johnny (gray) who are new to...the center. It's valid to DO that, these are NINE very talented guys, each of them deserving of the spotlight. But fans need to realize. as you've so impartially shown here, that putting together a GREAT stage is not...about...distribution of lines & moves so "everybody gets a turn" to be seen & heard. Excellence in Performance is...about...who brings the best...execution...to each note & move. A missed detail a discordant note or out of sync step...truly does matter. So...yeah...this is gonna take some adjustment but NCT will sort it out...they ALWAYS do. And we welcome your ongoing insights as they get there.

This comment is exactlly what I wanted to write. Also I agree that kick it is not too suitable for first impresion cause the choreo for new people seems messy. NCT are one of the most talented idols (my opinion) they are great dancers their singing and rapping skills are on point + visual no need to mention. These boys have too much thangs to show us! I love their music and everything also I hope that you Jeff will react to them more so u can understand them ^^

cyninshadows bruh i don’t think it’s fair to tell someone not to worry about Taeyong’s leg because he “doesn’t make mistakes.” It doesn’t matter if he is usually perfect, because one incorrect landing on his leg area and his knee could become messed up. I think it’s absolutely fair to be worried about that move because it’s kind of dangerous and hits a vulnerable area. They will repeatedly do this move (in promotion, practice, stages etc.) and it is a little concerning.

09:56 anyone else was waiting for him to react to haechan literally gliding to his position? Just me? Okay 😔 also imo I think each member tried to do the choreo in their own style for this song since they seem alot more unsynchronized this time more than in their previous titles 🤔

I agree, I feel they are less focused about synchronization this time and more about enjoying and expressing their own style. Their earlier comebacks are more synchronized like cherry bomb and fire truck.
@josephmarilyndunford84224 жыл бұрын
Just to give my two cents: if you decide to also watch their MV and learn about the lyrics, you will see that this song is referenced to Bruce Lee and hence, the Kung Fu theme (since I assume it’s difficult to see/hear the song properly in the dance practice environment with the echo and the like). Kung Fu is a martial art discipline which is “fluid” in its movements called forms, unlike many others that are more “rigid” in nature. As you had commented, there were some movements that are fully in-sync but there are also parts where the boys were “seemingly not in-sync”. Those parts which were synchronized were mostly the chorus where they danced together and they were indeed meant to show synchronization...however the individual parts (one example was when one vocalist sang part of the bridge and everyone else was on the ground) would have also been “intended to be fluid” movement within the group and not rigid (another example was when you pointed out in the beginning where one member was kicking higher than the rest: he was put at the front line and hence kicking harder than everyone else who stood in the background (and totally being in sync) and as you could see in the end, they always returned to synchronization. Another example I could give you from a different song, if you want to check, is called “Take Off” by another NCT sub-unit called “WayV”. Go to 2:33-2:40 of the MV and you will see Ten (SuperM) in the front line dancing more exaggeratedly while the rest were less exaggeratedly in the background. This was not because the rest didn’t know how to dance but because this was again, choreographed intentionally, to fit the mood of the bridge, after which everyone comes back to synchronization. Not all group dance has to be all about synchronization 24/7. There are movements within dance groups that are consistently not in sync, but this song and its concept did not require being in-sync throughout the whole MV. NCT has worked with extremely experienced and professional choreographers (and for this particular song, also with martial artists) - and with dozens of hours of endless daily training for the past decade, I think I can safely say they know all about perfect angles, precisions and synchronizations. Regarding your question: as mentioned above you can always start with the MV to understand what the song is about and how the dance is incorporated to convey its message. But if you can spare a further 6 minutes, my recommendation is to also watch NCT 127 THE STAGE (SQUAD & FIGHTER Ver.). It has an extra 1.5 minutes of prelude where they, again, showed fluid dance parts required to be in-sync with the music. Regarding SuperM: 67% of its members are from NCT (Taeyong and Mark from 127 unit you just reacted to, Lucas and Ten from WayV unit, in case you’re not already aware). The others are from EXO and SHINee.
@JeffAvenue4 жыл бұрын
Joseph & Marilyn Dunford thank you so much for taking the time to explain those to me :) I’ll definitely have to check more of their stuff to understand them fully. Some of the other NCT members I’ve seen (Lucas, Winwin, Ten) are amazing dancers so I’m not surprised if the rest of them are just as amazing!
@eliebubu4 жыл бұрын
Joseph & Marilyn Dunford I agree with this comm as well >< This MV is about Martial Arts + the harder beat and the concept of the MV don't want to show u the precise synchronisation (NCT are known for that and for amazing powerfull moves) so I highly recomending u to watch their live performances and more dance practices from all subunits like NCT Dream unbelievably talented teenagers or NCT U's and WayV also don't forget some solo stuff (mainly Ten's choreos - he's one of the best dancers in the kpop industry with Jisung who is the youngest of nct and Taeyong acording to Taemin - the BEST dancer in the kpop acording to almost all idols xD) choreos and of course NCT127. ^^

Some of the parts you mentioned as "messy" are from members that are more focused on their lines/faces or other movements as that is what the camera is going to focus on when they are on stage (example 6:56 where jaehyun after his part went down later than the others and it's the only one whose not in sync, and you mentioned johnny's leg before, same case) those type of things should be appreciated too if we are going to analyze their dance.. either way thank you for your reaction and you should definitely check more of NCT dance practices, you won't regret it and you would get that synchronization you are looking for for sure.

AHH that's the best explanation there is! NOW I understand! Will have to see the performance then. probably more polished!
@lenndly4 жыл бұрын
2:04 you have to consider their height difference for this one. Johnny in the center is way taller (which you of course can’t know so no blame on you) than the two in the back (Mark and Haechan) so for him to stretch his leg it’s pretty hard to stay at the same level cause not only is he taller but he’s also in the front so perspective wise his leg looks even higher...and the second time it looks better because the taller members are at the back so their legs don’t look that high raised as in the front I’m not a dancer or something I’m just taking in the different perspectives so if you meant something different just forget about my comment
@JeffAvenue4 жыл бұрын
Lxnchxn 2004 that’s very true. Height differences can have an impact on the overall picture of the dance 👍🏽
@ninectstay_4 жыл бұрын
Though I agree with everyone else, your explanation for Johnny is kind of bad(?). There are many other idols who are very tall (ex.: IZ*ONE Wonyoung, TXT Soobin) but even though they are taller, they practice hard to match the members. Whenever they dance, they try to observe the other member's performance to match with them and improve the angles that makes the performance bad. I think the other's explanation are good but blaming Johnny's height in this matter is not good. It just makes him look like a lazy person when he is not.
@nightowlalex52554 жыл бұрын
ninectstay_1205 Normally I would agree with you, but with the way the dance is set up, that Kick was meant to be powerful. If he went lower to match some of the shorter members who were push way further into the background it would lose the effect. It would lose so much of its impact, if Johnny weakened his kick, and I imagine a lot more sloppy. It’s not Johnny being lazy nor does it make him look lazy, he is putting emphasis on the power of his motions which is what the song and dance is all about.
@lenndly4 жыл бұрын
ninectstay_1205 I don’t mean this in general Johnny does an amazing job with making his dancing suit the others but in my opinion this particular move where they throw their legs in the air is an exception , if he did it so that they would be on the same height his other leg wouldn’t be stretched enough because of the perspective and it would look really weird and unprofessional

@shishik45714 жыл бұрын
I honestly think the different interpretations of the choreo in terms of movement causing the slight “out of synch” feel was on purpose. It feels like the choreographer gave them this piece and told them to run with it. You can tell they’re individuals but cohesive as a group. They know how to be in synch, because I’ve seen their performance before. The concept for this is like “fighter” and “squad”, and in a squad they’re cohesive as a group, but made up of individuals. This is just my interpretation though.

You know nothing about nct 7 months ago, but now every unit mv is now on your list reaction. You get to memorize the names of every member & acknowledge their skills. It makes me happy as a fan. On the other hand, I got to see your channel growing, it was just 10k subs and now more than 100k, there's nothing we can do but to grow i guess. Let me cry.

the point for nct doing dance practice isn't about sync, but their feeling
@bunnyl53574 жыл бұрын
nct is actually known for their synchronized choreo i think this was probably when they were first memorizing it, three of their members are actually part of other groups/ sub units so they probably didn’t have a lot of time to prepare together for this comeback, i recommend you watch more of their mvs / dance practices

@@JeffAvenue tbh, I'm new to your channel and only watched your nct/wayv reactions and I'm loving your growth to nct's craft. I love the honesty when you really don't like a certain something or when you give details. You may be one of my favorite reactor wink wink
@luca-mf3wg4 жыл бұрын
i like how you catch these small details in their dance but i think they all know that they're doing the dance differently as in their own style. they all have their own small modifications in the dances and i really enjoy it because i think that's how you distinguish each of them from one another. for example, winwin (he's not in this but he is part of nct) he went to beijing dance academy where he learned traditional chinese dancing so it's obvious he'll have more of a stronger foundation doing certain moves a certain way rather than the other members who don't have much training in that style. but i know where you're analysis is coming from and i do think that it would make a bit more of an impact if they did focus a bit more in being more synchronized in some parts. im not trying to be hateful or anything but just want to say a bit in my point of view :) (also this was longer than expected oops)

xiaojun haha no worries for the long comment! I love reading them! 😊 I saw Lovely choreo and those guys are amazing! Huge respect for them! I’m definitely understanding more of the concept of this choreography for sure 👍🏽
@seulgixsus4 жыл бұрын
True , I like it that they have their own dancing styles. Not everything is abt synchronization imo, ofc it’s a plus. But they are not carbon copies of each other. Not same height, age, same body structures, same dancing/training experience. With choreo as hard as these, it’s not surprising.
@Jane-qq2xr4 жыл бұрын
The "kick it" choreography had a lot of freestyle, so every member adds their own move here and there, that's why they're not synchronized. But "cherry bomb" is very synchronized because it doesn't have freestyle choreography.

Lots of people may be worried about mark stepping on taeyongs knee, untill you find out that taeyong was the one who suggested mark do it LMAO

An older group that really started the sycn movement is Infinite (Live Shows ) and Shinee. My favorite is EXO. Monster and the Eve Dance Practices for different vibes Playboy, Touch, Tempo is very solid. I also like NCT Dream. Highway to Heaven, English Version is my present favorite NCT 127 song. Wayv "Take Off" dance practice is also great. Seventeen is also very respected and do most all the own choreo, song writing and producing. If BTS is all you have been watching you have barely touched the edge of the kpop iceberg. Have Fun.

I don't know if anyone said it before, but you actually have seen NCT dancers before. Ten and WinWin (from 'lovely' dance) are also part of NCT, they just promote in China right now under different group name- WayV. And you should also check out some of NCT DREAM dance videos, they are really good! (Would recommend to start with We Young, GO or BOOM)

I want you to change your mind a bit. In this agency he does not focus on equal or unison, but he is most focused on his own dance style. If you notice it carefully, he doesn't dance the same way, right? It's their own way of dancing. Hope you can understand ✊🏻💕🌷❕✨

As my observation on NCT, every one of them has their own step, beat, choreo (if that what you say) in every song of them. Like this verse will have 9 choreo for each of 9 members. So my only suggestion is watching another video of NCT, there's significant meaning in their movement.

At first the choreographer said he didn't include any part of mark step on taeyong but taeyong went "how about mark step on me?". The choreographer asked so many times and they also worried bcs they have to perform so many times for promotion weeks. But taeyong said its okay he can do it.
