That last bit "put your keys in your knuckles like I have to" got you didn't it? The whole song is powerful and the lyrics throughout are powerful but there's just something about that last line that hits so hard. And it's not something that I think could ever hit a man the way it hits a woman, like a punch to the gut. I don't know where you went just then but I'm sending big (((hugs))) your way. I concur with everybody that has spoken before me and everybody that will speak after me that you absolutely need to hear her new single "Little Girl Gone". You have seen one side of Chinchilla, but the energy that she brings and her new track is just ridiculous. And she released bits of it on TikTok as a teaser prior to its release and that track had been used close to 40,000 times before it was even released the other day, which is how it hit number one on whatever chart so fast. She's been at this a long time and she's worked incredibly hard to get where she is and it shows. I did not know her until Ren but I am so glad that I know her now.

FWIW Chinchilla has said she does a lot of her own costume design and actually makes most of her hats herself Fwiw I get like that with literature, I ... read a lot, and so much of it starts to blend that I often wonder if I've read the book before even though it only just came out, it takes something really stand out to ... stand out.

This, right now, was my introduction to Chinchilla. If I hadn't known this was Chinchilla and closed my eyes, I'd swear I was listening to Aurora. This song, specifically, has a VERY similar structure/phrasing to the songs I've heard by Aurora. Now I'll have to check out other songs by Chinchilla to see if she's done anything more unique. BTW, I like Aurora, so I enjoyed this song, too.

No, her look and style are REALLY important and I think of in the same way that Ren puts himself forward as a full aural and visual package. She is intentional in the same way and her choices are really good. I don’t even LIKE fashion! The video of the single is not as good a performance but the visuals are stunning and she deserves the love for that too.

Never even thought of a "Regina Spektor" sound but I can see it. I feel WAY more 'Tori Amos" meets "Brjork" meets "Kate Bush" kind of feel... but not you have me wanting to go back for more Regina... who always just pushes my buttons in the 'right way'. Got turned on to her after the '500 Days of Summer' soundtrack with her "Hero" song during the 'Reality vs Expectations' scene which has to be one of the most impactful pieces of art I have ever seen in a film.
