I think Dimash would be a fantastic actor. When he does his songs in videos his acting is perfect, and of course we know Dimash is a natural performer, he absolutely controls the stage. It was interesting to see Dimash so reserved and shy around girls, such a contrast to his stage performances. Dimash is shy, even more so at that time, much younger, he loosened up a little more, but shyness is something of his personality. Dimash was offered a film role, it seems to me in China, but he kindly refused, he knows what he does and the right time to act. As promised the background story for the song "If i never breath again" The orginal song is by Mark Masri and he writes on his Facebook account about this song: "This song was inspired by a couple I knew many years ago. In short, immediately after they got engaged, she was diagnosed with terminal cancer which was tragic for all of us, but especially for them. Although her time was limited, it was still her desire to be married and so they did. They got married. Even though he knew he would never take his bride home from the hospital, he gave her the most selfless gift; himself. She passed away within days of their bedside ceremony. Thank you for your reaction! I thought that you may not be able to find it because it was in 2017. I did mention before that , from one his interviews although he doesn’t like give , that he was approached by Hollywood producer through Jackie Chan to do the movie but he declined. He adores Jackie Chan , also Jackie Chan was the first person who requested to see him after his first performance at “ I am a singer “. They are closed even the different of ages. He also know Jack Ma of Alibaba . There’s a talk that Jack Ma contributed medical equipment to Kazakhstan because of this relationship . Dimash himself gave 5 tons of foods and other essential things to all in need in his own country without naming himself. It’s known later because the recipients asked the delivery company of the name of the person who contracted all these. I like to check out all news and interviews of Dimash as much as I can, that gave me the insight of how humble and nice this young guy is and his philosophy of life is beyond his age. Maybe when you have time you can check it out 🤔

I think Dimash joked about his mother telling him not to kiss, because in the Muslim religion men do not kiss anyone outside their family members. And especially since the actress is not Muslim, he is prohibited from kissing her. I understand that there are certain boundaries which Dimash sets with regard to his personal life. Rather than explain personal details, he simply joked that he can't kiss. I admire him for adhering to his beliefs without exposing his personal life. By the way, I'm Pat, Jerry's wife. I had seen a clip from this short movie, but not the entire thing... so thanks for sharing this! Dimash doesn't seem to have much control over the story line or scene staging. He did what they asked him to do. So we can't really take this as an indication of his own creative direction. And that's interesting. See, Dimash doesn't package himself in his concerts as a boy idol for girls to swoon over (like Bieber). He has something for everyone - men, women, children, everyone, any age. But this movie was definitely aimed at packaging him differently. The story line is entirely about male commitment to his mate, male sacrifice. It's a theme that appeals to females, particularly young females who are thinking about how to choose a mate for themselves - and wouldn't Dimash, packaged thus, be ideal? The girl in the movie does not have to do anything herself. She *exists.* Her grace and beauty are demonstrated; we learn nothing else about her whatsoever. By virtue of her beauty, she is entitled to this level of commitment from her mate. He'd better go the distance! It's an anti-feminist message. Feminists are struggling for the right to be *persons,* not *objects,* to take their destinies in their own hands, to meet men as equals, to *do* and not just *be.* And to be represented in media as doers, accomplishers, not passive flowers. I'm not sure feminism has made much of a dent in Chinese culture just yet. Someone more knowledgeable about China than I might know. But I can't conclude that Dimash himself is anti-feminist. That information simply isn't out there in the public view. But we can take a hint from his family. His mother is as famous a performer in that region of the world as his father, a professional - they both perform together. Too, artists who have inspired him, in his own words, include both men and women. Dimash *might* be more balanced in his perspective of the genders. Certainly he treats everyone with respect. And when he's singing with female stars, he blends comfortably; he never overpowers them. Even his singing is respectful of his partners. Not a breath of scandal has emerged about this young prodigy; considering the scrutiny he's been under since Singer 2017, that in itself is mildly remarkable. No scorned lovers have emerged with accusations; no whistle-blowers have blown the whistle on underhanded dealing. The only real controversy I can remember about him is his decision to withdraw from CBS' World's Best competition. The scandal was in CBS lying to him, denying he would be pitted against children. He acted honorably; CBS did not. So, thus far, Dimash is clean. I do not doubt that young women around the world are fantasizing about marrying Dimash. Handsome, talented, vulnerable, kind, honorable, and single - these traits are all a part of his public persona. It's understandable that girls should feel drawn to him. But I don't see him deliberately defining himself as an artist to appeal to that demographic. This movie is an aberration. So... why is it? Why did Dimash agree to film it? The simple truth is that, after Singer 2017, Dimash was booking every paying job he could get. Today, with his worldwide fame nailed down tight, with concerts *anywhere* selling out in mere hours, he will have more creative control over the projects he participates in. So if anti-feminist messages creep in, as they did in this film, there will be nowhere for him to hide. He'll have to own it.

So interesting to read, and yes. The movie was a cliché, but somehow I believed that it was just a part of the show in terms of who they wanted to target - young women from China. But yes, she just had to be pretty but maybe just because the whole movie was just about Dimash as he is the star (and reason) for making this movie. They could still have shown other aspects of his girlfriend/wife for sure. I don't not much about Chinese culture as of today. It's been 10 years since I was in China, but something tells me they might have a more... traditional/oldfash view on men/women than in the western world. And yes, Dimash has something for everyone beyond gender, age and nationality. And that's one of the many things that makes him so easy to love!

Dimash does such a variety of things, he definitely can't be judged by any one of them in isolation from all the others. He's young, and willing to try lots of things, because it's the way to learn. Some will be more successful than others, and appeal to different audiences. I would say if you want to look at something he had more input on, look at Qairan Elim. He directed that, collaborated with friends, and sang magnificently. Of course, every song of his is my favorite as soon as I hear it. But, philosophically, if Qairan Elim is a personal statement from him, that's quite a statement! I love how multifaceted he is, and I love seeing him offstage as well as on, because he is such a sweet and genuine person! People call him an alien because of his talents, but he is also SO human!

One of the things I wanted you to know is how this was filmed. There is another video that shows how they filmed it. It all had to be filmed live in real time. So as they moved from scene to scene he had to quickly change into the next outfit and there were fancy camera moves. Like when they were cuddling on the couch. That was all one scene with no cuts. He had to come in and the camera swung away to the right and when it swung left again the girl was there with him. Then the camera moved behind the TV and when it came out the other side she was gone. But the entire video was shot with them scrambling between scenes. t was filmed all at once. No cuts. But different cameras in different rooms. But one mixing board. Sort of like how a live play is done. There were no retakes so... Given all that pressure... I think Dimash did AMAZING!!!

That was a special project when the film should have been made by one shooting after 3 days of rehearsals. They could not repeat any scene. It was really a sort of competition because then the audience voted for the best film and actor. Guess who had won!))

I wanted to tell you about Dimash singing, “Give Me Your Love” at the concert at Barkley center in New York. It’s very different than the one you reacted to. When I saw it, I thought the teens are going to have a fit...and they did. He performed this version one more time then changed it back more like the first one. At the second time he performed this one, he walked out to the audience and knelt down and said, “don’t be jealous, it’s just my job”. It was actually funny but he changed the performance ever since. This whole film and both songs are so beautiful and relatable - to everyone really, but to each for their own reasons. Dimash is just such a pure soul; seen here in his every smile, hug, awkward moment and respect he gives those around him. Those Chinese hosts/"judges(?)" were super funny btw! Mariah Carey had a concert here a few years ago, which was held in The Dome. (It's a big concert/event venue here in South Africa). I didn't go to her show, but people that went, said when she hit those whistle notes it felt like the whole Dome was lifting up with her voice. Incredible feeling, they said. Now I can only imagine the experience of Dimash singing live... 🥴❣️❣️💕💕

I love how Dimash said present/gift. We call it Dinglish in the fan club. We treasure every word. FYI, In an earlier edition, Dimash's mom called to remind him that he could not kiss in public. It is a Kazah thing. I agree with you, Dimash is a beautiful soul.

That was lots of fum to watch again with you Sabina! If I Never Breathe Again is absolutely one of my favourite songs and Di always sings it at every concert so tenderly for his Dears. His MV for Akyuum (My Swan) is definitely worth reacting to ... you will see he is much more comfortable in front of the camera & the song and his vocals are phenomenal! Any of Di's concerts will be great to watch with you Sabina but the NY one is my pick because I was there & that would be incredible to see again through your eyes. Thankyou so much! Dinah x ♥️

Thanks Sabina for sharing this great video with all of us Dears. Good to see Dimash test out his acting chops. He definitely has the matinee idol looks and I could see him starring in a Hollywood movie as his English is improving quite well. Reminds me of seeing a fresh young Elvis starring in his first dramatic movie “Love Me Tender”. Elvis was phenomenal in that film and although Dimash isn’t quite there yet, he certainly has the potential with his work ethic and whether being a movie star is something he wants to pursue. With his drive and determination he definitely can do it.

Sabina, merci pour ce magnifique moment et pour cette belle réaction ! J'adore cette chanson, elle est très touchante, et je trouve Dimash très émouvant dans sa façon de vouloir toujours faire de nouvelles expériences (ici en tant qu'acteur) La première scène où l'actrice se jette à son cou, ils n'avaient pas l'air convaincus ni l'un ni l'autre et ça m'a fait beaucoup rire mais bon c'est vrai qu'ils ne se connaissaient pas donc pas évident du tout. Mais Dimash progresse vite et le résultat est superbe !!! Dans un style très différent et plus ludique Dimash et Luo Tianyi "Jasmine" pour un petit moment de détente. See you soon Dear :)

You might have noticed that Dimash doesn't actually kiss. The camera angles get him close enough to the girl, but it doesn't happen. Same thing in the MV 'Akkuym" "My Swan". No kissing.

Thank you so much Sabina!❤ I heard that Dimash was offered an acting role but turned it down, saying he was too young and inexperienced in life? (though that might be just a rumour!) Anyways Dear, I thank you yet another great reaction, and for adding the subtitles - both most appreciated!
