You're not a vocal coach, Michael, but you hit the nail right on the head when you said: "It feels genuine. You don't feel that 'ok, she's doing that on purpose, she wants me to feel that...' No, it feels it's beyond that. It feels like it's natural. The way she sings and the technique she's using, it's like someone who was choosing his words to speak, you know. It's natural. And obviously, she's got the technique to do that and to make us feel that." Whenever I watch her sing, (and first of all, I love her tone,) she starts softly, drawing you into the story. Her pitch is perfect, you forget she's singing, you lose yourself in the melody and the message. From then on, everything she does is in the service of that story, not to distract you: the dynamics, the textures, the phrasing, her musicality and her entire bag of tricks. Something magical happens, you don't realize she's taken you on a roller-coaster ride, until you're jolted back to reality by that reverberating crescendo. Yet you sit back in awe and continue. The story ends too soon, and you wonder why your eyes are misty. Art at its very best.

Michael the other voice you heard was her husband Dave Lamar. He was the director of the video. She is simply the best there is these days. She just got through singing with David Foster in the Philippines. She sang, 'Never Enough', then a medley of David's hits. First she sang, 'I Have Nothing', followed by, 'I Will Always Love You'. Each sung with all the feeling and emotion the song deserves.
