Hello everybody! If you watch this video I clearly say we will not be reprinting these Fourth of July shirts because that would make me a liar! I then proceed to say if your fast enough this time you can get one of the 3 new releases. I then proceed to show the 3 new releases, non of which are Fourth of July shirts. I’m not sure how this has been misconstrued into me saying “he said he was selling more Fourth of July shirts” We’ve got several emails asking where they are, including some real shitty emails. 100% if I say a shirt is limited edition then once they are gone they are gone. IF I PRINT MORE THEN IM A LIAR! This rule will not change. To people who misunderstood this I apologize you misunderstood this, however we don’t need rude emails telling us you’re done as a fan because you can’t get a shirt you wanted. Some valve covers are specific to the side it was designed for! make sure the baffle is not rubbing against the rockers ,it did happen to me

Make sure those rocker studs aren't slowly pulling out of the head. Put a straight edge across all the studs and see if they vary in height. You may need to re-install them with some lock-tite.

If you take the valve cover off, look at the inside of the cover, you'll see exactly where the rockers are hitting.

Only happens when the ali cover is on, yelling it at the screen as you take the cover on and off and each time the sound goes away lol.

Yup so when on the noise is present when it’s off the noise isn’t. Something by basic deduction is hitting the cover.

Aluminum Covers have a way of magnifying the sound. In any event if it's running smoothly (banging on all 8?) It's fine it can tick a little run it see how she Goes.

The thick Fel Pro Cork gasket with some wether strip adhesive on both sides will get er done.

Check for witness marks on the valve covers. The noise seems to only be there with the valve covers on. Just an idea.

You probably have all ready fixed it but it could be the valve covers, baffle, or breather interference

Most commonly, there is a stud threaded into the back of the PS pump for attaching a support bracket.

As others have said, it’s likely a valve cover issue. I believe the passenger side valve cover is upside down. The breather hole should be toward the rear of the engine on that side, and front of the engine on the drivers side

You might want to pull that PCV valve out of the passenger valve cover and inspect it . Rocker arm might be hitting it . Worth a look anyway.

Here's a thing: Aluminum valve covers with deep fins work kinda like speakers. The sound actually gets amplified by the fins, in the same way heat is dissipated by having more surface area. They'll always be a little noisier than flat steel.

You should keep that plate with the car!It made it this far in it's life with it still on!Depends on how you feel about it.Put a paint mark on each push rod, run it and see if they rotate and that would tell you the lifters and push rods are ok.Just seen that on Vice Grip Garage.

I have a set of rocker clips for adjusting GM valve trains just sitting up here in Mass!! Keeps the oil from flying every where. I haven't needed to use them for decades!!. I'll give them to you Puddin! My 70 Chevelle 454 SS adjustment was back off until you here the tick, then one full turn in. Never had a problem...but that was back in 81. A lifetime ago. Hey Puddin Using an old fashion lamp timer on that there battery charging power strip is a great idea. You probably have a few of them hangin around your house. Check your Christmas lights box, or the ol kitchen junk draws. Once set up, you can plug a bright red danger indicator light into the power strip for double the safety, double the fun. Hope you set up a charging station like this in the new place, so charging batteries, can't be left on by mistake.

At 59:05 I was screaming, "Open the dang burn vent winders!!" You finally did that.😂 Back when I had a '70 VW bug, opening the vent windows would slow the top speed by about 4 mph.

An old dirt track racer trick from long ago: gently, slowly tighten down SBC rockers (with hydraulic lifters) until the engine skips. Slowly back off the rocker nut until it stops skipping then loosen the rocker-nut one full turn.The lifters are compressed more than usual. Strangely, this increases engine torgue, throttle response and perfectly safe at high RPMs beyond 7,400 RPM. I drag raced a 327ci like this for many years, no problems.

a little tip i learned 50 years ago..to adjust the chevy lifters loosen the rocker till it clicks then tighten down 3/4 turn ..if your looking for more rpm only turn down 1/4 to 1/2 turn down..you can run them at zero but when hard pressed they clatter..the best are the anti -pump up lifters..they don't go rigid under hard use...one more thing make sure the rocker nuts are a locked type(factory ones will loosen up over time) and the Rocker studs are not being pulled out of the head..heavy valve springs and high rpm will do that ..

I was yelling at the video. Check the valve cover. It didn't make noise on the cut valve covers. The aluminum ones are shaped different. Rocker could be rubbing on the valve cover. Love the car and thank you for another great video !!

Yeah, that power steering pump would have had a short 3/8" bolt in that hole, the head on the factory bolt is really thin as well. It's used to hold the pump to the reservoir.
