Motocross Action Magazine was invited to test the 2020 KTM 450SXF Factory Edition out at Glen Helen Raceway. What's new on the Factory Edition? KTM has updated the front forks and rear shock. They have also added SKF seals to the linkage and updated the mapping. These bikes are usually a glimpse into what is coming for the following new model year. Will this be the 2021 KTM 450SXF ? Only time will. My 2017.5 has 55hrs and has been PHENOMENAL!!! Nothing has gone wrong,nothing!!! It needed a battery after 2.5 years, but other than that it has been solid!! Yes i have used it for super-moto and dirt!! Power is just insanity!! Hard to hold onto in map#2, My only complaint is the seat will destroy riding pants!! Thor needs to come out with a KTM edition that has Kangaroo leather on the ass and crotch area. I keep thinking i want a new bike but my 2017 hasn’t given me any reason to sell it. I love the electric ⚡️ start!!!

Why is it so hard to get the suspension decent on these bikes? It seems like in my 30+ years of reading about dirt bikes the suspension has always been hit or miss.

450s kill 250 2 strokes. I love the 2 bangers but they are no match for the modern day 450s. They absolutely blow the 2ts away. Watch vids on utube all the 2 bangers get smoked

@@Thomas___ the 250 2 smoke are faster then the 250 4 stroke. 2 banger got the real explosive off the mark power. The 4 stroke with the more smooth and controllable power. The 250 4 stroke are about 40 horsepower while the 250 2 stroke are generally about 45-47 hp. The 450 4 strokes today are about 57-60 hp.

Crust, its the newer term for stiction and air forks have been known for this since it's difficult to get the progressive, smooth feel of a spring at the beginning of the stroke

I like the 2008 and the 2016 models better. I’d take this one over them cuz it’s new, but I believe the two models I mentioned had more raw power...

That's exactly why not many like the old 450's. They hit too hard, took too much energy to ride, and didn't put the power down as well because they spun. The modern 450's are light years ahead, mellower power, lighter, easier to ride, and less taxing on your body.

Air is light and easily adjusted. Coils are more consistent and reliable. Even the mountain bikes are going back to coil.

Loose all credibility what you say 'half' Bike is released in December, where is the 'half' from? Only Americans say this... why? KTM, nowhere, promote it as anything other than the 2020 FE. Pure and simple, but Americans always seem to think everything is 'from the future'.
