What causes a scooter to jerk and backfire outta the carb and lose power while going up a hill and sometimes down I've tried cleaning the Jets and adjusts everything but still no luck

Does your scooter vibrate when you start from a dead stop full throttle? I mean if you feel vibrations at your feet

your engine mount bushings are probably worn

Either that or your variator weights are off, if you have sliders, thise have to go in a certain way. Anything that causes centrifugal vibration means it not balanced . Like the wheels and tires on your car, if not balanced your steering wheel will shake. Check your weight make sure they are wearing evenly
