Hello, thank you for this great review! I also own a Suzuki SV, model SV1000S. It's a great bike and very fun to ride. It's hard to part with it, but the lack of comfort on long journeys, especially for the back, finally convinced me to change. The arrival of the new GSXS1000GT makes me hope to find a worthy replacement with character, but more comfortable for me and my passenger on long journeys. What do you think?
@MotoEcosse2 жыл бұрын
Well I've been riding my sv650s for about 2 years. I did change the handle bars to the straight bars because it was uncomfortable on longer journey's. The straight bars definitely help a lot, but the new GT is super comfortable to ride. The problem I have with the bar swap on the SV is the pegs are positioned for the clip ons. Not a massive deal it just takes a bit of getting used to. Where as the new GT has comfort in mind. It is a sport tourer so it's specifically designed to for longer trips. It would manage pillion riding with ease and I'm sure both rider and pillion would benefit from it's comfortable riding style. If you get a chance to test ride one I'd definitely recommend it, guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Great first effort. Well articulated. How do you think this would manage zipping through city commuter traffic. Would it be a bit clunky or steering not tight enough?
@MotoEcosse2 жыл бұрын
I actually think it would make a great commuter. The bike itself weighs about 220kgs but it super light and easy to flick around. I never found it clunky the whole time I was riding it and turning around in the carpark was nice and easy. 🤜🤛
@davidg21162 жыл бұрын
@@MotoEcosse ok that's good. I'm looking for something to commute in to central London so something easy to control that can filter through traffic and can eat a few miles on motorway too. But also be fun to have as it'd be my only bike.
@MotoEcosse2 жыл бұрын
@@davidg2116 This is definitely an option. A bonus with a bike like this is the quick shifter. Not in and out with the clutch if you're up and down gears constantly. This is obviously an option with a lot of modern bikes as well. 🤜🤛

I was debating this bike as my first big bike, ive ridden on alot of 125s and rode a zx6rr for roughly a month would you say this bike is suitable for a first big bike for a sensible rider
@MotoEcosse2 жыл бұрын
Hey, Harry. Well if you're comfortable and confident on a 600cc then it could possibly an upgrade option, but only if you're confident on at least a 600cc. I would only recommend moving up to something like this if you're absolutely sure you're going to be ok with the power. Although this bike is a sports tourer, it is incredibly powerful and very fast. The best thing to do is to try and arrange a test ride on one and see how you feel.
