I did in fact get that bike and I still have it, hardly ever ride and took it to a track about once so no motivational story but man that was a core moment in my childhood. Yes the forks are super stiff on this bike but in Hondas defense, you should always change springs in the forks that suit your weight when buying a new bike, no matter the brand.

I got a 2024 crf250r it feels so good! It’s still really big on me because I’m like 5”4 with boots on so it’s a little difficult but yeah you really gotta rev the bike out to get some power but it’s such a good bike

The two biggest complaints i had about my 2019 crf250 was having to rev it to the moon, and head shake.

Also their is 3 factory ecu maps on the bike their is a button and you can switch between aggressive map or slower map and it changes a bit of the gears it helps in different types of terrains on different tracks adjust according to the track your on

Them new Honda live at the rev limiter don't be be afraid to live there the faster u ride it the smoother it feels

I was test riding a friend's brand new bike, I'm not going to ride it on the rev limiter the entire time lol. And these new Hondas feel the exact opposite. The 2021 and prior crf250r you absolutely wanted to ride it near rev limiter to get power out of it. This newest generation crf250r motor is completely different - has a ton of torque but the power up stops pulling pretty quick. Probably better off keeping it in the midrange.

You can ride my YZ dude! But funny you say that about CRF and KX, I felt the opposite haha. The CRF feels way lighter than the KX, CRF has way more bottom end power than the KX, and the CRF was way easier to initiate a corner. They both have pretty stiff harsh feeling forks stock. KX has WAYYYYY more top end power - seriously KX high rpm power is excellent it just keeps pulling, where you would need to shift up on the CRF. I think my KX feels overall more stable but I definitely could corner the CRF more precisely.

Did you put 100 hours on the original top end? Pretty solid reliability if so! I didn't mind the stiffness forks because this track is really smooth. If I rode it on a rougher track I'm sure I'd want a revalve haha.

@@DerekHallman i just don't like how unstable the front end is, and it has a lot less power and like almost no top end power. You have to keep it in just the right RPM to stay anywhere close to the other bikes in its class. If you look at the dyno charts it's the second slowest bike in its class nest to the rmz

Does your bike start right up with the choke pulled when it's cold? I have the same bike and when I want to start it I have to pull the choke hold the starter for 3 seconds then let go and wait 2 seconds then press starter again and it starts in 1-2 seconds but it starts instantly when it's warmed up. I see guys that just hit the starter with choke off an it starts right up. It still has the original gas that I got it with when I got it from the dealer so I'm hoping they didn't put the wrong octane gas in it or something stupid like that
