I have a CAAD. Friends, (one friend in particular), often tell me I should get a carbon road bike. NO WAY! I've had upgrades to my CAAD and I just love it. Stiff and responsive and comfortable as all hell. If I buy another road bike it will probably be a CAAD 12. Alloy with , Shimano 105, power meter and decent wheels, I can ride with anyone anywhere near my abilities.

frames do NOT get "softer" even a steel frame, the most likely to change from fatigue will not change enough in a LIFETIME of riding to be noticeable.

I have one with Ultegra/Hollowgram and Dura ace wheels and it is basically a climbing masterpiece! This one looks even better!

Love mine with the Ultegra groupset. 56cm, 40cm handlebars, Fizik seat..it rocks! Carves turns, climbs like a billy goat.

Great vid Em, I also recently got a Caad12 and I love it! Upgraded the wheels and put on some carbon bars and it absolutely flies along.

Interested in your comments about the stiffness of the CAAD vs the Willier. Do you notice any extra fatigue from the aluminium bike? Also I just noticed you don’t wear gloves.

Hey do you have footage of the upgrades you have done to your bike. Would be nice to see. If so or a run down of all you have done to make it uniquely yours. Kudos from another caad lover and yes i will be upgrading to an electronic group set myself.

That frame looks very similar to the Slate in the shape of the tubes and hydroforming. Is it the same?

Hello emily was WONDERING what size frame do you ride? And how tall ARE you
@jensenhealey907efi6 жыл бұрын
So if the Wilier is "soft" you should let Raoul at Luescher Teknik cut up the frame to see why it's "soft". As someone who rides a carbon bike as well as several Cannondale bikes I think that would be very interesting information to know.
@EmilyFowler6 жыл бұрын
+Jensen Healey hell no. What a terrible thing to do to a bike. Haha

Raoul also has a non-invasive non-destructive way of checking a carbon frame that involves ultrasound scanning where he uses a probe that he inserts into the various openings in the frame. Sort of like doing a colonoscopy on a bicycle frame. :)

I've had a specialized roubaix for 10 years and doesn't feel any "softer" than when I bought it. I wonder if there's something wrong with the willier?

I have hesitation between CAAD12 105 vs SuperSix Evo Tiagra. Which one is the better bike, high-end alloy with 105 or carbon Tiagra as the price is simmilar

As someone who has a caad 12 105 the supersix will feel more compliant and no difference between the 105 to tiagra bar 1 extra gear . New tiagra is excellent . I’ve ridden both cannondale internal cabling is rubbish . . Poor shifting down is common
@dr105016 жыл бұрын
The Willier must have very low modulus carbon in the layup if you notice the downtube/bottom bracket shell flex

Great set up. Love the wireless revolution, I'm waiting for Garmin or the like to come up with auto shift based on power data and preferred cadence etc.
@waynosfotos6 жыл бұрын
I rode the new wireless SRAM red etap, and was disappointed, it has a very soft change and you can’t adjust it to make it snappy like mechanic red. I do like the campy electric but couldn’t warrant the price so have record mechanical
@TheCrossroads096 жыл бұрын
wayne proud thats interesting, I'd have to try before I buy.
@waynosfotos6 жыл бұрын
TheCrossroads09 Yes try, the three do feel different. I like the SRAM left / right buttons idea, very easy to use, but the slow change is a deal breaker for me as I like snappy changes like SRAM mechanical and campy. The Campy electric is the the most snappy, but if you want the programable campy it is $3500 up for the groupset. I thought a bit steep for a motor to change my gears.

@69pslim6 жыл бұрын
Bill Bove I guess you're one of the lucky ones because I've had three Garmin devices give me issues and out of the three two of them were replacements so I decided to give Wahoo bolt a try and I have never looked back since. Just to see for yourself check the forms on all the issues people are having with Garmin devices

Bill Bove Lucky, yes, the 520 is they best unit but search the internet, lots of problems with garmin including me. And their touch screens... awful!
