We recently got our hands on some new bikes, one of which being the 2021 KTM 450 SX-F Factory Edition. Each year, Husqvarna and KTM push the limits of what is offered to the every-day consumer with their edition models. For 2021, the Factory Edition KTM 450 SX-F comes outfitted with nearly every item available in the power parts catalog, along with the all-new My KTM Connectivity App. We had SML test riders Pat Foster and Kyle Puerner put the new KTM and it's technology to the test at LACR before gathering their thoughts on the machine. Yeah that's phat if you could get the 2-stroke feel and the out of the turn power and up hill power " WOW ".

I have the 17 450sxf & it's the most 2-stroke feeling 450 I've ever ridden.

“Map1 is the one you can adjust” I think when you upload a new map via the app both map1 and map2 will incorporate the new settings - at least that's what I feel on my bike. Why do you think only map1 can be reprogrammed?

You have to have the Traction control map on before the bike will actually upload the new traction settings for the ECU. You have to have Map 1 selected then upload the new ECU settings to that map. Map 2 is the "aggressive" map. TWISTED DEVELOPMENT Vortex x10 ECU can add 2 more maps to the handle bar, plus customize them, and you will get 6 more maps on the box. Its all you need, that's 10 maps all day.

I have a 2021 350XC and I'm hoping I will be able to use this app and feature to put MAX engine braking when riding in the woods. That's what I loved about my 1999 WR400 so much. Not since that bike have I been happy with the way the 4 stroke engines are too much like two strokes. Too many guys haven't learned how to ride 4-strokes in my opinion. I'd also add that I've mostly been a woods rider until the last few years.

I was thinking the opposite, less engine braking in the woods to be more smooth

@@Recedinghairline180 When you have lots of gnarly downhills you want engine breaking. It also helps save energy in long races. I ride crazy hard stuff so that's part of the reason as well.

Engine braking makes woods riding way easier for me. For some flowing sections I’ll not use any brakes and just use engine braking. Saves a ton of energy with forearm pump, and constantly moving legs. Really tight crap I think I’d like my 300 better because of flickability, but for harescramble/gncc type stuff it’s easier I think
