I just bought my 2024 Transalp and I really like it. As a 2-up bike, it can do the job as long as the passenger can get themselves up onto the high pillion saddle. I plan to use mine as a solo ride only. I have other bikes for 2 up riding. It will spend very few miles off road.

Maybe they’ll bring back the ST1300. I had to give mine up for. 2015 Goldwing because, at 76, it was just too top heavy. I loved both the 2003 and 2009 that I owned and put more than1k on. I really miss the days I had on that Red bike. What a trooper.

Thanks for the review! Was wondering what are thoughts of using this a two up bike? Wife and I are looking for something to pull out of a toy hauler and ride 150 to 200 miles a day with some light off-roading included.

This would be a great option for tooling around on day rides and keeping with you while traveling with the camper. I would say if you are looking to travel 2 up (packing luggage, etc) then you may want to get something a little bigger. As always, take one for a test ride and make sure the wife is comfy back there before you purchase.

@@roadrunnermag Well of course the wife goes along for the test drives! Probably won't have much lugage, just do day rides. Will just need enough for the day.

How suitable might this be for say riding 400 freeway miles in a day, from Washington to Montana and doing some camping. I’m actually leaning towards a GS 1300 as I assume that would be a lot more comfortable and less vibrations cruising at 72 mph.. A little off road ability would be nice, like fire roads, but not a big priority for me. Too bad the Honda doesn’t have cruise control available, but it’s a fraction of the price..

It would be comfortable for that ride! Any ride day over 300mi can become uncomfortable depending on the bike. Take plenty of stretch breaks and you'll be just fine! We recommend using a throttle lock too, so you can shake your arm out every so often. The Go Cruise is a super affordable option, or more complex like the Atlas or Kaoko. Safe travels!

I've ordered the VeriCruise TBW cruise control module for my TA. Ian @ BigRockMoto demo'd it and gave it two thumbs up. Throttle lock is ok, I'm using that for now on my TA and my '19 Africa Twin AS.
