Hello Graham,on my maggot and ground bait feeder rods I used 2oz tips and on the light rod for down the edge I used A 1oz,if the river was carrying extra water I wouldn’t hesitate in upping these to 3 or even 4oz, by creating a bow in the line I could hold bottom with a 30gram feeder mate,on some pegs on the Trent you’d need more. I carry feeders up to 70gram with me and what we call dead cow lead weights that can clip on to your feeder if needed.

Yes ,just a few casters,hemp and dead maggots,but mostly hemp and caster mate
