'Throw and hope' is Okolie's first philosophy. His second is 'hug and hold'. If he had any natural talent he would have learned how to box. He's been coached by people who know the game inside out - Shane McGuigan e.g. - but simply doesn't have the brain or the coordination. In that regard, he's similar to Deontay Wilder.

@@IImutantII fat is more economical and requires less oxygen to mobilise than fat, also in many cases it means a lower centre of gravity because the weight is around the gut, hips and legs instead of the shoulders, which makes for a more solid base and greater punch power

He was chambering that right hand like crazy. Any top 30 guy puts him away easily. Look at where Muhamed's left hand was when he threw that very telegraphed right. No top guy is making that mistake.

If he comes in with that lack of stamina and technique at any of the higher levels he's getting put away. He was already getting slow after a minute and that right that just missed him only really missed him by luck - he didn't block or purposefully move from it. He was just doing the standard go in quick then back out routine that anyone above basic gym level will soon sort out.

This was supremely unimpressive from Okolie. Sloppy offence, sloppy defence, clearly overweight, and fought like he had no idea HOW to fight. Stood off to jab from range like a boxer then randomly waded in to brawl toe to toe. It's like he was trying out different styles because he doesn't know what he's good at yet?
