Hey, JT. Gooood video there. Love the clear & sunny weather. So much of your work is done in the rain, it seems.

Almost all of my work is done in the rain. Today I got lucky though. It was mostly sunny and I filmed a rock train going by a train station that is going to be removed in Midland, Ohio

I love watching the locals also. They are the hard ones to catch but worth it. I caught another local switching a customer in Cincinnati with a caboose and remote control locomotive. I need to work on that video

Bestest part of your Vid's Brian, beside the trains, is seeing life on the railroad, the work they do, moving equip, etc and the fact so much of our daily products move by rail. However I dont think that tanker is taking anything to Walmart today LOL

Perhaps the people in that car wanted a closer look. Not to smart! All in all I liked the video. That old rail station caught my attention, tattered roof and all. Fun video to watch. Always like watching those trains. Some good camera shots, neat stuff!

I have never been much of a GE locomotive fan, but this C36-7 as odd as it is kinda grows on you. Hopefully it will be around for a while and it continues to show up in Jawtooth's videos. Old locomotives can develop a mechanical problem at any time and the cost to repair can be more than the cost to replace. Plate C

It is actually a B36-7 because it only has 4 axels. This is my favorite CCET locomotive. Not many of these around anymore. Thanks for watching!

Regarding the advertisements, if a house is properly constructed the backfill around the foundation should allow the garde to slope away from the house, and so no rain gutters are needed as the rain drains off the roofs and runs out away from the house. If yours does not you should have a landscaper regrade the foundation. Then you won't need to clean gutters because you won't need gutters at all, think of the money that will save you.

Pretty sure the maintenance guys would have gone out and oiled and greased anything that would be needed in advance of operations resuming. Or, maybe they roll like CN, and wait until operations grind to a halt before doing anything in the way of preventative maintenance :)

Why does short line railroads usually have two or more engines doing their switching
@beeble20033 жыл бұрын
In this case, it makes good sense, as the B36-7 was new to them so they probably wanted a backup on-hand in case it failed. But, in general, this is something I wonder about: short lines do seem to use a heck of a lot of power for trains that don't seem to need it. Is it because their maintenance is so bad that their locos fail all the time? Seems like a bad trade, to burn twice as much fuel and put twice as many hours on all their engines.
@beeble20033 жыл бұрын
Except then they leave the SD45 in the siding and ride off into the sunset on the GM. :shrug: I don't get it. How can they make any money running their business in such an inefficient way? Today's job: send two locomotives out to get one tank car. Actual result: one of the locomotives came back; tank car and the other locomotive left behind. Tomorrow's job: fetch the locomotive and tank car that we left behind yesterday. Buh?
