First Session on the Contra 1Strut! - with Lous

Summer arrived in the Netherlands! This good weather also means almost no wind, so the perfect time to try out my new Cabrinha Contra 1S. The Contra already existed in the big sizes, but this year Cabrinha added the small sizes with 1 strut. This makes the kite very light and the kite flies incredibly well in almost no wind. This session the wind started at 12knots and dropped to 8knots and I could still generate enough power with the 7m to keep going. This is really my perfect freeride kitefoil set up!

Still wingfoiling a lot! Kiting when the wind is light and there are no waves:)

Merci Annelous, c'est top! So what was the low end on this 7m? I would like to buy a 9m to foil under 10 knots, I weight 70kg and have the Cabrinha Hirise Lift, what do you think? Thanks!

I think that should be perfect! You’ll need some good skills to get going, but with this kite it is definitely possible. I’m 62kg and went with the 7m just under 10 knots

Great review... any experience with the Airush Ultra V4 for lightwind... trying to figure out Cabrinha 1S vs Airush V4 for my lightwind foiling... summer here in Florida is LIGHT wind. Maybe Aluula but that's $$$

Nice kite ! I just bought the cabrinah high rise varial small with a 65cm mast and 85cm mast . I’m still confused on if I should get a drifter, contra or moto for foiling and some surfboard ….and what size contra one strut would work best for 10-20 knot light wind foil days in Squamish and la ventana I have 22m trim lite bar and I’m 80kg :)

Hey! That’s awesome! Squamish is an amazing spot. So you’re looking for a kite for both surfboard and foil? The Contra 1S has a great low end, either the 9m or 11m would be good. The 11m def easier in 10knots, but the low end of the kite also depends on your level.
