Just looked up your call and Wow you are definitely radioactive! Impressive beam you assembled looks like you have a half way decent apprentice working besides you. Always helpful to get the projects off the ground.. Well 73 and good luck with your channel and all your endeavors. Hope to hear you on the bands...✌

If you put your mind to it and work hard, you may be able to go to the ISS and talk to your dad on Earth with this very device. That's if you decide that's what you want to do when you get older. I'd imagine that would be such a surreal moment.

Cool, nice try kid! 👍😉 Must be hard to keep up with the ISS, how much time do you actually have to contact the ISS when it flies over? And what kind of antenna were you using!? Also what was the black triangular PCB on the wall behind the radio!? 73 to you! 👍😉
@KJ7NLL Жыл бұрын
We have about 8-12 minutes for a good pass, and we are using a helical antenna. The black PCB is a triplexer to split the 2m and 70cm bands into the radio. I did a presentation with a lot more detail. If you are interested, here is the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHzIgIKXgqdnkLM 73, characteristic dipole impedance!

I just worked you via the ISS ! Were you using those huge helical antennas? I am just using a 3ft vertical dual band Jetstream and 2 Motorola PM400s, full duplex. thnx de WE6R

Yes, we are using that dual winding helical antenna! if you want to see more about the project, here is a presentation: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rHzIgIKXgqdnkLM
