Just had my TT returned for having new brake pipes and suspension fitted, the mechanic (VW Trained) who did the job returned the car to me with soft brakes after fitting an ABS pump. Now i will have to complete the job myself...

I've owned two SW20 Turbos (JDM imports) and began to watch this channel because of Sarah's MR2. My last one was wrecked a few years ago while parked on the street, I replaced it with an RX8, which I didn't really get on with. Great drivers car, but too much work and too much fuel usage to justify the rotary experience with that little power. I then swapped that for an 8N TT 225, a few months before Sarah bought Teeter Tot. Weird coincidence! I now track the TT with similar upgrades to Sarah's one, though still on the stock turbo. It's great fun pushing it to the limit while people in much more expensive Porsches carefully creep around difficult corners. Inexpensive cars can be awesome.

I have worked on cars and been a car nut for nearly 60 years. I used to detail some of my Corvettes every week. I have never been as bad as you nor have i seen very many folks as quite as nuts as you. But you do this maniac OCD thing so calm and collected it is not a frenzy, it more like a ballet, you look the part so well. Thank You for sharing, great project result. What's next? D

Most mechanics and their shops are constantly in a state of organized chaos but Sarah's shop is meticulous and clean all the time. She's probably like me and has this severe OCD thing about being clean and organized. If there just happens to be even a tiny drop of oil that hits the ground I stop, get a towel, and clean it. A lot of shops it's like a 50 gallon drum of oil was dumped in there.

On that cross brace, fabricating one should be easy. Bolt the old one into place, cut off the cross over piece leaving the ends , bend and cut a piece of tubing and bend to fit, spot weld in. The remove finish weld clean up paint and reinstall.

oh on the blow of valve. These engines need a Tune were tune compancate for the blow of valve out in the open."so it will run Rich and lose power". Original valve blow air in to front of compressor to the Turbo.

He does sound good now! I kind of wish you had gotten this deep into that car before you were getting rid of it, and could get some enjoyment to offset all the crap he threw your way over the years. But I know the replacement will be just as much fun. You've done some great work here. Not that it makes any difference, and it fully meets spec, but the Pentosin SF is not nearly as pretty as the violet Pentofrost E. For the washer fluid level warning, check the washer fluid level switch, F77 is plugged in. It on the bottom of the washer fluid bottle, you can get to it by just loosening up the rear part of the left front inner fender liner, it's tucked away pretty much below the a pillar. It's a normally open ground switch, so to test, you can ground out li/ws wire to make it think it's full. The float in the tank can fail. The heat shield clip/speednut should be N90708803, if you haven't already grabbed one.
