First Steam Up Of 2025! Bredgar & Wormshill Light Railway New Years Steam Day

Today we visit the Bredgar & Wormshill Railway for their first steam up of 2025! This little narrow gauge railway is situated in the stunning north downs in Sittingbourne, Kent.
The railway was opened in 1975 by a group of friends and has gone on to become a vast collection of narrow gauge locomotives from around the world. Also on site there is a collection of classic cars, steam engines and a 1901 beam engine which was fired up on the day.
Two Orenstein & Koppell of Berlin 0-4-0 'Helga' & 'Eigiau' were in service as well as the little Ruston shunter 'Bredgar'.
The railway is open every Wednesday for their diesel services and do host a number of steam events throughout the year so please check the link below for more information!
