Awesome! Fantastic! I hope that one day I will have enough knowledge to put together all parts of a project like this!

Congrats!!! Super impressive! Does any of the gait/control come from the quadruped or do you just have to start from scratch?
@odri4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Our main control pipeline is based on optimal control. We used the same whole body controller for both quadruped and biped, but the motion planning part is slightly different...

Absolutely incredible work!!! Are the ankles actively controlled, or are they just spring/damper systems? Will this work be made available as open source? Is your controller running on the robot or remotely?
@odri4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! Each ankle has 1 DoF Passive joint... All the CAD parts are available (see the description of the video), the controller and all the software will be made open-source soon. The controller is running on a remote PC on Ubuntu and the communication with the robot is done using Ethernet.

Is all state estimation being done with mocap? Any plans on switching to inertial measurement to maintain the gait?
@odri4 жыл бұрын
We already have the IMU mounted on the robot and use a combination of its data with vicon for base state estimation. We will move to imu+kinematics state estimation in the future to be independent of mobcap...

Will the batterie be integrated in the body ?
@odri4 жыл бұрын
Yes - we are planning to add batteries and use the wireless communication in the next step. Right now there is no extra space inside of the body structure - so we'll have to modify it to fit the batteries.

Are the codes also shared or do you have to write it yourself ?
@odri4 жыл бұрын
Part of the software which is common between quadruped and biped is already open-source. But the specific codes for biped is not yet open-source, as we are working on them, but we will open-source all the codes with examples as soon as we arrive at a stable version...
