Great surf!! I wanted to get a Mirage but it seems they are looking for new people to run the company.

They are but there are plenty of mirages out there. They are also doing a few deals at the moment... However I would look for a good 2nd hand one

@@SteveHobbs6 I live in Auckland and Mirage isn’t common here. I only saw one and loved its design and the integrated rudder. My in-law live between NSW and Queensland so hopefully I can see more of them next time I visit them.

@@kayakintro I suppose getting one shipped would be a little challenging.... Although living in Aukland would mean that should you ever need any service/maintenance or a repair you wouldn't have any problem finding someone.

@@SteveHobbs6Indeed! Have you paddled the Nadgee Solo or the Audax from Expedition Kayak? How do they compare to Mirages? It is very hard to find any information about Mirages here. I only saw one and two advertised for sale (the 582).

@@kayakintro I have look at the Audax but have yet to paddle one I'm afraid. They are downwind machines from my understanding, almost surf ski in their performance. The Mirages are more of a compromise across all aspects but not a bad compromise. The Mirage hull design has been around for a long time and is pretty well proven, a lot of people like them. On another note, it is really difficult to pick up a second hand Audax so you are into some serious cash if you want one. I have used Mirages since 2006, I am on my 3rd, with a little time with a Point 65 X-Ray in the middle. There are a lot of video's on youtube which will give you some insight into the mirage; just take a look at my kayaking channel.
