Was Steve Kerr REALLY the x factor? Or was it he took over a team ready to take the next step, with 2 of the best shooters in NBA history?! JJ Reddick, with all due respect, will not make a difference. He has NO coaching experience people!! Just bc you talk basketball on podcast doesn't mean or translate into a GREAT coach! These guys are trying to sell you on the idea. To compare with Pat Riley is nasty work bc he at least was an assistant. But at least the Lakers will have the excuse of "he's a first year coach, give him time". Bottom line, your aging superstar will still have to play better defense, get back on turnovers, make his teammates better with his "savant" mind, get off the ball and quit being so ball dominant etc for this team to do anything.

Among all the current candidates there, experience is not a large deciding factor. All the experienced candidates are Dog Meat coaches. With or without experience their impact on the Lakers Seasonal Performance will have a small impact if any. That is why someone like JJ Redick with alot of mental upside may be a good choice because he already checks alot of the other boxes not called experience. Looking at you Shannon Sharpe.
