It makes perfect sense. The AWD system is front biased meaning all the drive goes to the front and when it begins to slip power goes to the rear. Therefore with most drive going to the front, AND Audi wanting the steering to be amazing (also done by the front wheels) it makes perfect sense for the fronts to be wider to have more contact area to be able to do a better job. The wheel off sets are made so you can never see it from the street. I have owned previous RS3’s and Audi have been doing it for years. You can’t see it unless you read the tire wall

@@t-rex7796 Just for the record, the 8Y RS3 doesn't use haldex clutch system that transfers power from front to back, it uses the newly (ish) developed RS torque splitter differential that has two clutches for each one of the back wheels. What this mean is that there is always, absolutely always 50/50 power distribution front/rear, there is no clutch ot anything to do differently between the transfer case and the rear diff. And on the outside of the rear diff are the clutches. Thats the best way to do a torqe vectoring system, without using electric motors and similar systems are used thru the years by a few manufacturers, like Mitsubishi on the Evo, for example. Even Audi have done similar working systems on few of their other cars with the optional ,,sports diff", but it is taken to this extend of capability and choosability for the first time in the RS3. So the reason for the staggered set up at this point is to make sure, that the weight distribution is met the right way by the width of the tires and that you have as good balanced car as possible when you drive. And thar indeed drives impressively well.

Explain to me how Audi builds these limited runs of the RS3 whilst people like me, who ordered an RS3 in September 2021, are still waiting for their car to arrive! There's hundreds of us in the UK with orders and many don't even have build dates! Clearly Audi doesn't give a shit about their customers and as a brand, are now lowering quality and upping prices. If my RS3 ever arrives, it'll be the last Audi I ever order.

Fantastic car , but i just don't understand why Audi cut their car on power , you would expect from this performance model at least 3o hp more , for example the new R8 it should have been 6o hp more, when you consider how competition like BMW and Merc pump the power in their cars.
