I was taught Middle C was the centre of the piano growing up, but actually E/F are more the middle of an 88 keyboard, and if you look at the pedals. Knowing this changed things immensely for me once I was told this which is why I’m writing this here. Plus, it has made it so much easier to play repertoire for the treble register which is most repertoire.

Thank you very much for your excellent videos, I have been using an app based method for a year but have finally decided that I would like to learn to play the piano, not follow a scrolling bar forever. To be fair, it has taught me orientation of the keyboard and the notes. It isn't very satisfying, so, having watched your review of the adult beginner books, of which I settled on the Alfred's, it arrived a couple of days ago, as I don't work I have plenty of practice time available (though I don't have a right elbow which is a little limiting) having started on the level 1 book I started from the beginning of the book and got through the first 70 pages reasonably quickly. I finally get to the point, had I seen the books and your videos before launching into an online app based system? I don't think I would have, there are some habits to break and I don't think that having an app that tells you you hit the right key at the right time as the only feedback isn't satisfying. So in my very humble opinion, if I was asked by someone wanting to learn to play the piano, I would advise them to go down a good book and video method before paying for an expensive "game" style programme of learning. If the book method doesn't work then look at the apps available. It is just my personal opinion that may or may not save someone from spending money on something that has unsatisfactory limitations. Once again, thank you for the videos but please, don't play so beautifully, I keep falling asleep

Hope I don't get to forward here but alas! an attractive teacher that knows to not teach using baby talk that I'm sure would put a 6 year old off. I notice you're working with some Alfred books called Group Lessons or something like that. I'll try and find them . Great teaching manerisms, engaging and pleasant facial expressions . Clearly a sharp and accomplished instructor.
