First Time Back In Disney World’s Magic Kingdom

Disneyland has been closed for a year due to the pandemic and this is our first time stepping into Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom after being away from the magic, the rides, the characters, for over a year. We visit attractions we miss from our home park, including Haunted Mansion, Under the Sea ~ Journey of The Little Mermaid and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and attempt to eat some Magic Kingdom treats we’ve never had before, including Cosmic Ray's
Spicy Chicken Sandwich, the Cheshire Café Cat Tail, Gaston's Tavern’s Warm Cinnamon Roll and more. We also explore some of the merch.
Was the magic still there? Did we have an emotional reaction to being inside the world again and seeing Mickey and Minnie? Come with us on this adventure!

I will make sure to go and appreciate that trash can when I’m there in July. Also, Kylo Ren is my fave meet and greet. My daughter asked him why he killed his dad and he was beside himself with anger and shouted “enough.” We were all dying with laughter.

Drizella and Anastasia (aka the stepsisters) are my favorite characters at the parks. They're just so much fun all the time and it's a joy to see their interactions everytime, I'm happy you two got to see them during your trip! My favorite of the two is Anastasia tho, when I was little I loved her in the Cinderella direct to dvd sequels.

It’s gorgeous. I was so lucky this trip. We ate dinner in the castle during the firework show. Pretty magical. First vacation in two years because of the pandemic.

Kitra, you are not alone. We were at MK 2 weeks ago and I too thought the lighting was way too low on the rides esp in Haunted Mansion and Pirates. So bizarre. It’s like they didn’t ride through and see you can barely see some features and settings throughout the ride. Turn it up Disney! 💡

Favorite Character so far - Rey. All the ones I've seen are awesome, and I got a great picture during my birthday trip in early Feb 2020. Disney Character I'd still like to meet - Captain Marvel. I REALLY wanted a picture when I went last year, but I didn't want to pay for Park Hopper JUST for a picture so I skipped it. But whenever I do Disneyland again, I hope Captain Marvel is still doing photo ops at some point.

The wife and I went last weekend for our anniversary. It was both our first time at WDW, it was magical! We witnessed ourselves tons of cast members enforcing covid rules. We also witnessed so many guests following rules. Was a Disney park different? Absolutely but was still so nice to be back to a park.

Yeah Disney does a great job but some guests, a small portion, just don’t pay attention. Especially in the weekends when it’s more crowded.
