Yum! Love biscuits and gravy. Biscuits are **basically** scones. The main difference being biscuits don't have sugar / eggs, whereas scones typically do. So biscuits are lighter and fluffier and more buttery, whereas scones are slightly denser from the eggs/sugar. Other than that, they're basically "kissing cousins" in the quickbread roll space. And the "gravy" is a white gravy basically made from meat drippings from cooked sausage, typically with cooked minced/ground sausage, with flour added, then cream/milk, and a bit of black pepper, maybe some other herbs & spices to taste. The added flour helps thicken the cream and give it that nice rich thick texture & taste, and a little carbs in there. So, it's just a nice thick white cream sauce. Some have said like like a behamel sauce, or something, with cracked pepper & cooked ground/minced sausage added. Or something like that? Anyway, quite nice. Can be eaten any time, but is often served as a breakfast items. Probably 'cause it's energy-dense and will keep you going with plenty of energy for a goodly while, if you're working. Kinda' like we also have country-fried or chicken-fried steak, which is also an any-time meal, but is also often served as a breakfast item and diners and such... Again, very hearty, and energy-dense... Good "comfort food."

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment and watch the video. Huge fan of biscuits and gravy. Since this trip I’ve been back out to New Orleans’s, Memphis and Nashville and biscuits and gravy was almost my daily choice. Going to try make one back here in the UK sometime soon 🤜🏼

As a midwesterner I’ve always wondered why people always hate on American gas station food until I went to cali😂 I’m sorry cali I really am but it was so sad the food was made with no love that Midwest gas station food hits different

There a gas station near where I used to live that has fabulous bbq. Just right at the intersection in the Shell station. Also homemade biscuits for breakfast.

You need to make your own biscuits and gravy...some people perfer using hot/mild sausage or even Italian sausage. Thats what makes it, the sausage. I perfer sage sausage for my biscuits and gravy

"Biscuits" shouldn't generally have sugar in them. Scones have sugar & eggs, biscuits don't. So, if they're putting in sugar or some such, it's more of a "scone" than a "biscuit."
