Chili is always more flavorful the next day after being in the fridge-gives more time for the flavors to mingle. Always make extra! It also freezes really well. We like to pour it over a bed of tortilla chips/nachos for the BEST leftovers! :)

Our small town grocery store is Hitchcocks., We also have a Sav a lot & Walmart as well. But you guys, you really can't go wrong with Chilli, just throw in what you like and simmer. I love mine with white rice. Yummy!

I have Fresh Market (great for single servings portion of meat and produce) Target, WinnDixie(Not often), Dollar Gereral (now$1.25) and Costco one block away. Then Publix, Wal-Mart and Aldi are one mile, so I have my choice. I go out every two or three days and buy small quantities.

Also peel and cut onions under water won't hurt the eyes and you can chop in blender in a little water a couple quick pulses will chop them good strain water eyes will be great. When I make chili I use 6 cans of beans and 6 of tomatoes and tamatoe sauce cans of crushed tomotes mushrooms

My local store, which is just about 30 seconds is called Hy-bee. It’s a employee owned grocery chain here in Iowa. Chili for me is in a can with NO beans and without any peppers or onions!! I’m a very picky eater!!

You onion can be cut with out tears. Clean all the shell off don't cut the ends off. Once you have the shell off cut a small part off the top of the onion. Dont cut the root end. Then set the onion on the part you just cut off. So it stands. Now take your knife and follow each line down the onion not cutting the root at all turn the onion and keep cutting the lines the root will hold it all together. Now you have it all sliced in long slices tip it on its side and cut the onion in dice size pieces all the way down. Till you get to the root. There your down all dices and no crying

Chop one end of the onion and then peel it under hot water and you won’t cry when peeling or cutting it. Try it!!

No Ingles around here. No small grocery stores either. Wal Mart ran them out of business. Chili needs lots of onions. Chop them very small and put in meat when it’s half way done. Get a chopper for the onions so you won’t have to touch them. It’s so easy. BTW do you have a chopping board? If not get one. Your moms counter tops will thank you.
