Jersey Mike's hands down is the best sub because they freshly cut the meats right in front of you. None of those meats sitting on paper out in the elements all day long like Jimmy John's, subway.

You know the meat comes from the same processor and the only difference is in the time that it was cut, and the wax paper prepared meats are made daily... so I would have to say Jersey Mike's gives you the feeling of freshness, but in reality it's the same.

@@blavictor Yes, but the difference is subway does not cut their own meats. It's all prepared by another company placed on the wax paper, placed in a large cardboard boxes and shipped to subways. So none of that meat is fresh at all. At least at Jersey Mike's they open a fresh package of meat, put it in the slicer and cut it right in front of you. So I'd say it's a hell of a lot fresher than Subway

Hi, worked at JJs for 5 years and here to answer a couple of your questions: - Yes they do bake their bread in house! As a matter of fact typically it is corporate standard to throw away any bread that is over 4 hrs old always have fresh bread. The bread you got actually looks a bit dark haha - The #9 Italian night club is our best seller but the Beach Club and Club Lulu are also really good. Shame they didn’t upsell you on the Bacon on the Gargantuan! - Shoulda got the oatmeal cookie, it’s way better than the rank ass triple chunk imo - All of our Jimmy chips are kettle cooked but I LOVE the bite of the Salt and Vin chips. They are starting to sell the Jimmy chips wholesale at Walmart!

Absolutely love Jimmy Johns subs. Their bread is excellent. I normally get the Gargantuan or the East Coast Italian. For subs it’s either Jimmy Johns or Jersey Mikes. Firehouse is ok, just subs aren’t big enough. I don’t even acknowledge that subway exist.

Listen, I'm no sub Guru. You have to give Pickleman's a try😊 the #16 grill cheese with garlic butter spread and the tomato bisque soup The Italian Club the Italian chopped salad and the Asiago chicken pizza with black olives are some of my favorites

I usually get JJ Gargantuan sandwich at Jimmy Johns restaurant. I also always eat the whole thing. When, I've put the sub in the refrigerator, it doesn't get soggy, like Subway subs use to get soggy. Subway must have changed their bread, because the last time I got a Subway sub and I put half of it in the refrigerator, it didn't get soggy bread. I'm trying to lose weight, so I don't eat as much as I use to eat. So, I've lost almost 50 lbs. Although, I don't eat Subway subs or Jimmy Johns as much as I used to eat. The funny thing is, I'm less than a mile and half away from Jimmy Johns, but they still don't do delivery in my area.

Jimmy John's is exactly just a sub & not a hoagie. It do not have that original Philly taste or smell. They also do not carry sweet peppers & onions have no taste.

As a Canadian, the list for me is (generally): 1. Firehouse Subs, no contest 2. Any bakery that has a sandwich deli 3. Subway 4. Mr. Sub I frequent all of them except Mr. Sub. It was a childhood staple but as I got older they feel more like a school lunch sandwich half the time. Subway is the best price-point and convenience. Bakeries always have the best bread and bonus if they slice the meat there for you, also they load you UP. Firehouse is self-explanatory, just tastes better.

In Rochester you should have tried DiBella’s but they are in most Wegmans so you should be able to save time and get them in Buffalo. Also in Rochester is Amiels. Both I miss and get when back home. Also both were right by the Golden Corral you were at. In Syracuse when visiting college girlfriend I liked getting Jreck subs. I don’t think they are around anymore. But here in AZ now. My favorite is Mr Goodcents for subs then potbelly deli, firehouse, jersey mikes, subway and then I’d get a convience store sub to order over Jimmy John’s.

If you like cold subs, Jimmy John’s is fine. They do make their bread in store and the also sell the baguettes for cheap. I think they’re 69 cents for a day old one. I still prefer other places because I like a hot sub. My favorite place is Penn Station. They have fresh cut fries and their cheesesteak is the best! Order it with everything! Definitely not traditional, but I like it.
