First Time Ever Growing And Harvesting Sweet Potatoes! I Had Help!

This is the first time I’ve ever grown sweet potato slips and planted them and was able to actually grow and harvest them! They are now curing and I can’t wait to eat some!

The sweet potatoes must cure in a warm, humid place for about 2 to 3 weeks in order for the starches to convert to sugar. Lay them out on the floor, single file on a sheet, canvas, or flat cardboard in a storage shed or someplace that gets up to 80 degrees with humidity. If you don't have that place available, you can place them in the oven with only the over light on, in a plastic bag with some holes in it. Do that for about two weeks, and it should work. You can still use your oven, just make sure to remove the bagged sweet potatoes out and put them back in when the oven has cooled back down. Make sure the oven light is on. I enjoyed your video. You can also eat the leaves, they taste similar to spinach

From what I have seen of dogs and gardeners….dogs seem to REALLY like potatoes. Dogs can eat sweet potatoes and they are good for them too. Congratulations on your harvest! Maybe next year you should put the potatoes in the front?

Hahaha oh we had plenty of potatoes for ourselves! He just harvested and dug for all the tiny ones left behind. Though the carrots… oh he loved harvesting those with me! Lol ate 11 of them. Have you already seen that video?
