I was married one year (1977) before this was released in 1978. This song would have been in our wedding. Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 68 yrs. old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Maurice (pronounced Morris), (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) He passed away as a result of a twisted intestine, (on the 58th birthday of their sister, Lesley, who is the first born of the family.) Barry and Robin also said he had a heart attack, but the doctors still operated. Robin (right) (December 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) He had the same problem with his intestines. When the doctors went in to fix it, they found cancer. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins. Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, (not pictured) had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs. younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. He lived a lifestyle involving drugs, and he had heart problems. The brothers, Andy included, wrote all of his songs. Barry (middle) stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2023, he and his wife Linda will celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary. (They were married on his 24th birthday.) On a sidenote, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who was 78, January 12, 2023. Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing. They were singing in what is called falsetto. This was not their normal speaking or singing voices. Barry the oldest brother in the middle was known as the best falsetto singer of that era. The three had beautiful voices and they were known for their outstanding harmonies. They were also prolific songwriters having written more than 1000+ for themselves and for other top artists. They started singing together as children in 1958, Barry was 9 years old and fraternal twins Robin and Maurice were 6 and continued until 2003 when Maurice passed away. They had a 5 decade career and are regarded as one of the most important and influential acts in pop-music history. A great song of The Bee Gees is NIGHTS ON BROADWAY where we can hear Barry singing in his chest voice and this is the record when Barry discovered he could sing in falsetto. ❤❤❤

That song was when they discovered falsetto. They had no formal training. Being bros, they competed to see who could do best at this, Barry won, could sustain it longer, and even more rare, could add vibrato.

They did have different voices, see their solos. Being bros, they sang together all their lives and got it right, harmony was almost instinct. Barry said Mo just Knew where to fill in. Anything from before 1985 has no auto-tune, that's when it was invented, unless somebody added it later. Before A-T, if you couldn't sing right, you had to go back to your shower, no chance of a singing job.

Autotune wasnt even invented until 1998.. this was recorded in 1978.. this performance was in 1979 ( number One Hit ) which The Bee Gees said if it hit NO.1 they would donate 100 percent of the profits from this song to Unicef and to this day 2023 every penny has gone to Unicef. They were Honored with the CBE metal award ( Commander of the Order of the British Empire by the Queen of England for their contributions to charities and in 2018 Barry was Officially Knighted by King Charles as he is the last Brother Gibb standing.
