I have completely fallen in love with traditional dances from the North Caucausus cultures in recent weeks. I know there are differences between the Republics and even further linguistic and religious differences between groups within each of those Republics, but what I see in these dances is a string of closely related cultures who are incredibly distinct from Slavic Russia (but also distinct from the Turks and Iranians) are probably should have had a nation of their own a very, very long time ago.
