First Time Fishing Out Of Shepard Park Gautier, MS

Todays trip finds us in Gautier, MS. The date is November 4, 2023. Our launch point for the trip is Shepard State park. The park has a $4 entry fee, and it was little bit of a process to get in the gate.The target fishing area will be around the island cuts in the middle of the Pascagoula river. Baits used are the Zman Streakz 3.75" and Mann's Stingray Grub. Tide was falling early and started to switch to rising a little after noon. Wind switched from NW to coming more out of the South as the day progressed. Air temperature started in the upper 40s and ended up in the upper 70s.

Yeah, I watched some videos a couple years back from some guys in Australia that mentioned straight motor oil is the most visible color in dirty water to game fish. Started experimenting with it and having success so I’m a believer. I’ve always thought it looked a little like a mud minnow also.
