The black knight weapons are absolutely game changing. First time I played through I got the Greatsword from the Knight on the tower in Undead Parish, and I got the shield AND Sword from the one down the stairs in Undead Burg. Had no fucking clue how absurdly lucky I was until my friend check out my character and lost his shit. I was already working with a janky Zweihander build so my friend helped tune it up for the Greatsword and it has been my forever been my faithful companion in every Dark Souls game. Black Knights will forever hold a special place in my heart, I always make an effort to gesture for them like it's a duel.

Well i think the Black Knight greataxe has a higher damage scaling than the Halberd and Ultra Greatsword... I got it when I went to the catacombs, upgraded it to +5 and Holy moly, i was dealing some serious damage... Like that heavy attack was already dealing a 1000 damage... And like any Black knight weapons, it deals extra damage against bosses I cleared the Four kings with ease of my playthrough and new game plus 😂😂😂

There's a ring to increase your chances for item drops just something you need to know if you want to collect all the Black Knight weapons before in game it's been a while since I played the vanilla dark souls I can't tell you the name of the Ring sorry about that

I know I'm very late to this but i started my first DS playthrough this week, I was running through tomb of the giants when one of these mfs jumped me and knocked me off the cliff, he chased me down the cliff and I got a pop up saying I recieved the black knight halberd. I checked it's stats and realized they're absolutely bonkers, didn't realize it was the best weapon there is though

They legit have the best shield in the game in terms of both weight and damage reduction. If you ever need stamina, simply have the Grass Shield on your back but if you need to block use the Black Knight Shield

BKH is best weapon for speedruns in NG because it doesnt require detours for materials. It isn't the best weapon in the game. Glad you're having fun with the game.

@@Arysinn Weapons like Painting Guard Sword, Uchigatana, and Great Scythe can all attain much higher DPS above softcap and at max enhancement levels. I prefer Chaos Zweihander over BKH. BKH is still a great weapon though, as are all the BK weapons.

While I never used the Black Halberd, I did use a +15 Halberd. Other than that a +5 Titanite Catching Pole.

It’s a higher drop than I actually thought! It’s like 20%, but the rarity comes from them not respawning until your next playthrough

My first playthrough I got the ultra greatsword. The stat parameters are nuts but when I met them I two shot everything. By the time I reached ornstein and smough I had the axe too and I was trading blows unable to roll with full black iron armor and shield and the axe in the other hand tryna go straight hands with ornstein. Eventually it worked because I would separate the two then brawl ornstein and spam heal whenever possible, then I went buck naked against smough when ornstein went down so I could get outta dodge asap😂✌️

I would reset the game create a new character again just to get it, yes that means going through the asylum, killing the asylum demon and running all the way to that mob just to get that halberd. Last time I did it it took me 7 attempts I think or 8.

Random drops are the best. Got a titanite slab in ds2 from the trading birds with a small smooth and silky stone first try. Shame it’s a hex build and I don’t need regular titanite

The weapons in dark souls all deal similar damage to rate of attack and range, all the weapons in dark souls are balanced in the base game. There isnt a weapon that makes the game super easy you're just good with a halberd, I thought dark souls was easy cuz I did a thief class and just used the dagger the whole time turned out I'm just good with daggers.

I haven't gotten any of these, but between the claymore and Uchigatana, I don't know if i think it'd be the best. Claymores moveset is very powerful and the Uchigatana is the Uchigatana. Enough said.

Yeah not a ton compares to the running R1. My opinion though, is that the running R1 is comparable on the Great Club and I tend to like the moveset better for the Great Club anyway
