The pencil drawings, all the cartoony stuff, it was drawn frame by frame. It took an age. No filters in 1985! Nowhere near their best song by the way. Lots of love, A 45 year old xxx

It was filmed in the '80s when high definition wasn't an industry standard yet. The reason they can easily convert it to 4k means that it was shot on film instead of video. Film, even from that era, was of a very high quality and lends itself well to being converted to current video standards, especially if it has been well preserved.

I was 16 when A-ha released this precious gem - an '80s synthpop/rock classic that still holds up today. For sure made solely for us hopeless romantics lol, our "never-give-up-on-true-love" anthem. Yes, still fangirling at 52 and proud of it 🥰. Oh, and my favorite part of the video 'til this day? He comes back for her 💖 #relationshipgoals

Welcome to a-ha and the voice of morten harket, one of the best voices of all time, he is now 61, they are still touring but had to put on hold 70 dates due to the virus. You have loads of great songs and videos to go through , next up was the sun always shines on tv, then , train of thought and hunting high and low. I’ve been a fan for 35 years

The band is from Norway and exploded on MTV and the radio in the early/mid-1980s when music videos really started and MTV actually played videos 24 hours a day! The video was super innovative at the time, and won many awards (as did the song). They are still popular in Europe ( but hey, they're all 35 years older now)! If you're looking for another song from them to react to, I suggest "The Sun Always Shines on TV."

The true classics, the actual masterpieces are the songs that can transcend their genre and their time, immediately enjoyed by several types of people over many years and time periods. These songs are rare (as they should be), and this song is without a doubt one of them...

PERFECT REACTION......EXACTLY as it should be IMO. You watched the whole video in conjunction with the song. Played a few bits back which some reactors fail to do and continued without missing a beat then you even watched the credits showing the accredited Animators. 3,000 THREE THOUSAND Hand Drawings were used in 1985 long before advances were made. The most-watched video in MTV History and over a BILLION views on here for a 35-year-old song. Only a few videos have hit that mark, all recent acts.

Song made smack bang in the middle of the 80's, probably the greatest musical era ever. The song is an absolute classic in every sense of the word. Aha reigned supreme in the 80's and that's saying something, considering the output of high quality songs at that time.

A lot of young KZbinrs get confused about how it is some old videos are really high quality, some really low. Firstly, their ability to release on 4K all depends on the format. It looks to have been shot on film, probably 16 mm, which is much higher quality than the video they had back in the day. They would have converted it to video at the time but someone was thinking of the future because now we can convert the film to digital. 16 mm film is still pretty grainy so you might not actually be seeing as much detail as 4K can give you but better to go too high than too low. I know there are a couple of Queen videos shot in the early 80s on 35mm film, and those are vastly superior to their early 90s videos shot on video. The second thing is, even video- or standard definition- was pretty good at broadcast quality level. Watching it on those old cathode ray tube tvs it looked pretty good. The trouble is, KZbin is chock full of old VHS transfers (home recordings) and digital copies that themselves have become degraded through compression giving the impression that our TV was really badly blurred back in the 70s, 80s, 90s. It actually wasn't for the most part though US TV was pretty bad because it used a different standard. Check out the Hey Jude performance by the Beatles. That's standard definition.

Aha come from norway and i became a fan when take on me was released back in 1985 i was 16 i’m 53 now and still very much a fan of there’s. AHA are a very wwunderrated and unappreciated band with a huge back catalogue so thankyou for checking out their first hit single. There is plenty more where that came from. the thing about aha is all their music is different no two songs sound the same. the sun always shines on tv is a great song and a follow up to take on me, hunting high and low is a ballad, manhattan skyline, lifelines, summer moved on which is in the guinness book of records for the highest note held in a song. You should definately check out more of aha’s music. Aha have a very loyal fan base and might even bring you subs if you continue aha’s music. Take on me is just the tip of a very large iceberg. Thanks again and take care 🇳🇴🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿😘 (norways flag and scotland flag where i’m from) ❤️

The 4K resolution was achieved either by the KZbinr upscaling the resolution of the original video using AI, or the official label company remastered the video from it's original 35mm prints. Most original film prints (television or movie) are actually +4k resolution, but have to be scaled down for their release copies (4K resolution wouldn't fit on DVD disc space, for example. Or standard videotape used by networks couldn't support that high of resolution). What's really impressive is the video itself. The amount of work that went into it must've been painstaking; it was made using a process called roto-scoping, where the footage is shot live action, and then an artist went back and hand-drew each individual frame.

TWON! You are seriously my favorite reactor, and I watch a lot. Your joy and love of music is LEGIT! I know you appreciate great music, and I would love for tou to start exploring ELTON JOHN and LINDA RONSTADT, two of the best voices in rock across the decades. My #1 Elton pick for you is "Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding." But here are dozens of classics to choose from. LINDA: She went from folk rock to rock to classic 1940s to Mexican folk songs, and they all sound amazing. Dive in, and keep smilin', brotha!

Written by a-ha. Modern rock/pop band from Norway. This is a 2nd version. Released in 1985. Trust me: this is better than the original version. 😃😃😃 Morten Harket sings 1 of the most difficult belts! 🤯 Morten Harket is underrated. You never hear his name with Steve Perry + Freddie Mercury as among the GOAT singers. But Morten belongs here! 😃 The actress later appears in To Be a Lover with Billy Idol. 🇬🇧 In the Solid Gold performance, Gina Schock from The Go-Go's played the drums. Sample. Pitbull wrote a rap + sampled Take on Me. Suggested sampled song: Pitbull, Christina Aguilera + Morten Harket perform Feel This Moment. Suggested next a-ha song: Train of Thought. This song is even harder to sing than Take on Me! 🤯 🎸😃👨‍🎤🎹😃
