Sweden, Sweden, Sweden, what talents you create! What is it with this little country in the North? Answer: one of their treasures is / has been that they have a natural aptitude for singing and for music in general. It is in their genes. See for example "allsång på Skansen", Stockholm, where they meet and sing together once a week in the summertime. ABBA was one of the very first artists to be known outside of Scandinavia. A big hug from Norway, neighbour of Sweden.

I lived through the ABBA years. Back then pop hits came from many genres yet the ABBA sound was unique. I sort of get it now. They didn’t pretend to be R&B, soul, folk or any electric guitar-heavy band of the time. ABBA seemed inspired more by classical music and I’ve read that their keyboardist Benny was formally trained, which makes sense with his playing. A great pop band!

Both couples married, but unfortunately eventually divorced, basically dissolving this incredible group. Allegedly, they were offered ONE BILLION DOLLARS to appear one more time together, but they declined. However, recently the 4 DID RECORD A NEW ALBUM, and supposedly will perform as holograms in concert. There is already a kind of "teaser" video out using look-alike marionettes, which is fun to watch!👍 😀😍🤩☺😃

Nice reaction to the best popband in history! Yes, the voice of Agneta is extra ordinary. Frida is really amazing aswell. These sad songs you’ve listened to so far ”The winner takes it all” and ”S.O.S.” are masterpieces, agree! ABBA have got a plenty of superhits during 74-82 and now again. Just to dig in it 🥰 and I will follow you. You have got calm songs like ”Fernando”, ”Chiquitita”, ”I have a dream”, ”Knowing Me, Knowing You”, Thank you for the music”, ”Slipping Through My Fingers” and ”My Love, My Life”. You have got nice upbeats like ”Take A Chance on me”, ”Waterloo”, ”Mamma Mia”, ”Dancing Queen”, ”Voulez-Vous”, ”Super Trooper” and ”Gimme, Gimme, Gimme”. ABBA changes styles, have always got harmony and a lot of expression in all their performances with great lyrics. My personal favorite is the romantic ”The name of the game”. Whatever, you can’t get wrong what ever you choose with them! Good luck!!! 🍓🍓🍓

@@TangoEliott "..a 3rd voice that can't be duplicated" What Frida brings to the duo is very apparent in this song because Agnetha starts solo. I would defy anyone listening blind to this song, and didn't know Abba, to claim confidently that there are just two singers. I put it down in part to Frida's operatic background..

I'm so glad to see you for first time to react my favorite ABBA song "S.O.S." has a story It was one of Their first recordings after the greatest success of "Waterloo" in Eurovisión, just four months later, in August 1974 But it waited almost a year for its release, in June 1975 at Sweden, September 1975 at UK and US "Waterloo" needed another theme to confirm the trend and it was not an isolated success or a stroke of luck ABBA's next three elections failed to stand out Until finally "S.O.S." have your chance to be a single, and broke the drought, reaching #6 in the U.K. and #15 in the U.S. being Their second hit in both countries at the same time, and six #1 and more Top 10 in several countries of all continents and after these, ABBA had 18 Top 10 consecutives in UK between 1975/1982, for example: Mamma Mía, Fernando, Dancing Queen, Take a chance con me, Chiquitita, etc "S.O.S." in less than 200 seconds is a gem, a masterpiece! The transitions from the dramatic opening (a dingy piano and a cracking Agnetha voice) to a powerful rock beat with catchy pop chorus in the middle are brilliant. ABBA marked an era in many ways One was the musical leadership of its beautiful and lofty female vocalists as the center of attention Another was the use of contrasts, such as sad lyrics with catchy melodies and harmonies And their recording tecnique "wall of sound" gives ABBA more powerfull ABBA, as in its time BEATLES, left an unforgettable mark on several generations It is good music that lasts and stays alive and well. Thank you very much for your honesty and sensitive in your reaction I hope to see you in another video to ABBA My new suggestion is to you see a live perfomance of ABBA in UK 1974 "Waterloo" when ABBA win the classic Eurovisión Song Contest between 17 countries and begins your worlwide legend in rock & pop music history My best regards to You from Buenos Aires, Argentina South América
