I relate to that , even though he's a nice man, after parents divorced I astranged from him and the 'my love for dad gen', never developed any further. Later in adult life, we tried a few times to bond, but I just don't know what to feel or how to act.... I gave up, last time we spoke was 2009.🤷‍♂️

That's so sweet 🥰 I loved my father, he was my hero, such a sweet and lovely soul he had. I still miss him, he died to young. Never met my daughter, but I know he would have been so proud of her. My daughter loves her father very much but they also argue a lot. It is because they look alike 😉 but when she's older she will remember all the good things. It was very beautiful to see your emotions with this song. Love comes in many many shapes. Setting together, being quiet and drink beer, is also a form of love ❤

Growing up I had my troubles with my dad, you know... puberty. I did things differently than he would have and we would fight about that. One day after a big one, I heard this song on the radio. Searched it, put it on repeat untill I played it for my father. We stood there crying our eyes out. Now 10-15 years later I still cry when I hear this song and he really is my father and a friend! I only found your channel today and love your vibe man!

Dain, Alains dad was the lead singer in a band called the Dukes of Soul... My best friends dad was in the same band playing bass guitarr.. I have seen lots of their performances and Alain would climb on stage as a young kid singing during breaks.. For the last 16 years i whas a partner in a fastfood restaurant in holland whit my parents that was very difficult because we saw each other every day and we shared all the money but also the financial part and we needed to share all of our expenses. That was not cool. But now we sold the company and go our different ways and that so much better for our relationship. I love them now again as my parents and they are proud again of my new job and my new appartement. So that's so more wurth than money. ✌😘💋

Beautiful reaction and we were crying together. I never had a dad that was interested in us, too busy doing his work. My father and mother divorced when I was 3. When my mother died (I was 21yo) he came and pretended to be interested. The circle became round when he was dying 10years ago and I just was in time at his bed holding his head and told him it's alright and to let go. Then he died in my arms and had to tell the nurse he just past away. I knew he was proud and full of love but it would be nice to hear those words. Happily my mom did this every day till the day she died last August 30years ago.

This song has always given me chills and some tears as well. My father left when i was 2 and i found him at 18 years old. Whe started working together after a few days of contact and i remember clearly, we sat in the car on our way home from a job and this song premiered on the radio. It was the most awkward moment of my life.. both stuck between 2 emotions. I can't speak for him but mine were hatred and love at the same time. We eventually stopped seeing eachother 6 months later. Because of this song and my experience with my dad i planned on never doing the same shit to my kid(s). A while later i met a girl, fell in love and after 1 year she became pregnant (unplanned). During the pregnancy we kinda grew apart because her family hated me becayse i came from another part of the city🤷🏻‍♂️. That led to a rocky relationship but i stayed to take care of my son when she gave birth. It lasted for 2 years.. untill she told me on my son's birthday that she had somebody else. (She cheated for 2 months) So basically i'm not seeing my own son since he turned 2.. exactly like my father and me. I had no choice in that but it still hurts me at times. This song still gives me hatred and love at the same time but for a different reason than the first time i heard it💩
