Great reaction but I have the impression that you may not be aware that the song that brought you here, "Man of Constant Sorrow", was actually performed by this group and in the movie George Clooney was merely lip-synching. Alison Krause is pitch perfect, and has incredible breath control. Listen to her sing. When You Say Nothing At All. Also listen to Rhiannon Giddens: Wayfaring Stranger. For Country I love Johnny Cash, and all the songs on the album for the movie about him Walk The Line are great, but especially God Will Cut You Down sung by him when he was old and sick. One of the reasons that I like Country in all its forms is that you can listen to real musicians, and artists who can sing and also play an instrument. One of the best guitarists is Vince Gill. Give a listen to Tulsa Time with him, Sheryl Crow, and Eric Clapton, and Vince alone with Go Rest High On That Mountain. Oh, almost forgot: Linda Ronstadt with Blue Bayou.

They are one of my go to's when it comes to listening to great music. One of my all time favorites, which is a cover from the band Shenandoah, is "Ghost In The House". That unique sound just attracts you to want more. If you want to hear Allison’s voice just mesmerize you war, her cover of the late great Keith Whitley’s song “when you say nothing at all” will do it. T Bone Burnett is a damn genius. He put the music together for that movie. There’s also a live show of many of the artists called Down From the Mountain you should check out.

I second the suggestion of doing Whiskey Lullaby. Hauntingly beautiful and with a story that sticks with you for life.

I saw Alison Krauss live once, in 2017 or 2018, and had the same reaction about the quality of her voice: when she began to sing, I expected to hear something less pristine than what I've heard from her on recordings ... it's live, after all. But there it was: this impossibly crystal clear voice coming at us in such high beauty it was almost too much to bear.
