I dont believe that this was the first Elvis song that she has done. I know I heard she was a fan of his. In a way she reminds me of Elvis in the way she puts her heart and soul in her songs just like Elvis did. She released this right when the new Elvis movie is coming out. P.S. This was the best reaction video to an Angelina song that I’ve seen to date. After I listen to anything new from her I am always left without words to describe what I’m feeling. I stutter and stammer trying to find the right way to express the connection her voice brings directly to the deepest part of my soul. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, he is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." and, in my mind, Angelina's rendition is much truer to the lyrics than any other singer, including Elvis. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it.
