I realized this when I first heard her singing Gloomy Sunday in 2014 on The NGT Show when she was 7. I compared her vocals to that which the legendary Billie Holiday did when she sang the song at the age of either 28 or 29. They sounded so very similar, which may sound crazy, but once you compare their versions I'm sure you'll believe, as I do, that Billie is reincarnated in Angelina.

This performance is the best cover of “The Show Must Go On” that I have heard. It totally brings out the emotions and thoughts about Freddy Mercury and his story. It is a powerful statement ans Angelina delivers all of it with this beautiful performance. She gets to the heart and soul of the song and what the composer and singer conveyed. For me that was everything. I didn’t feel a different interpretation or performance. I felt like Freddy was singing it with her. It is such a special feeling to be able almost “channel” the original artist. Sounds crazy but I can’t help but feel like it kind of happened with Angelina and this music and song.

Freddie would be proud of this one. It is true that the age is not really a factor when considering how good Angelina is... but.... when you think about the fact that this is a 7th/8th grader singing this, it's hard to ignore how impressive that is. I think by now you are really seeing just how versatile Angelina is. I am very hopeful that when she puts out her debut album it is going to have a lot of variety on it to show what she is capable of doing (and I know it's not really going to be her "debut" album, but for much of the world it will be).

I’m sure you read the interview with her manager, if not, here’s why they went with Republic Records: ‘Angelina Jordan has now signed with Republic Records as their highest priority new artist. Manager (and uncle) Michael Astar says the commitment with the right interest in mind has been one of the most important things when choosing a team and partners to be part of Angelina’s team. “You also need to choose someone with the right chemistry. These are the people you have to deal with on a daily basis, you have to have a good feeling and chemistry with the team you choose.”’ Also, has anyone requested her EDM track? For a way down the road reaction. 😁 It’s called Above The Water (feat. Angelina Jordan). Another interesting experiment or Angelina trying out different things... sans belting (great belting, though!).

I’m not offended at all, and based on the interview with her uncle/manager, they didn’t want this to happen either... - - - ‘AGT (America Got Talent) had always been interested in bringing Angelina to the show, but with their normal contract, artists are being locked into a label, management, and other things for many years. Astar says that it didn’t matter if you get exposure or not, it was out of question to give away that right. “Some time passed and they again contacted me, asking if she wanted to sing on their show. I convinced them to give me a contract where Angelina is free from any deal if she performs.”

I didn’t really think the Above the Water chorus was Angelina “belting,” hence the “sans.” But after hearing it again a few minutes ago... fair enough! Hello Adam. For a few weeks, months? I'm already following your reactions to Angelina. With this song, he holds a mask in front of his face. I always look forward to your reactions to her. I think she still had that modulation in this one, those choices we all respect so much. Belting is not my cup of tea, but it is impressive that it's in her quiver. It's a major label she signed with; she's now in the company of Taylor Swift, Stevie Wonder, Ariana Grande, and, yes, Amy Winehouse was once on there too. Of course, her Whitney Houston cover is belted to the max. Her cover of Bohemian will, I suspect, surprise you (again). It's a tour de force.

Great reaction as always. It's always a happy day when you have a new Aurora or Angelina reaction video posted. One part of me would love to see you react even more often to Angelina, but it's probably better to spread them out as you do so you can continue to react to her for quite a long time. I have a feeling it will be awhile until Angelina can finish her new album in New York because of the coronavirus situation. She is currently living isolated at home in LA, mainly to protect her family from possible infection. She posted on Patreon that this is one reason she can't make cover videos too. She doesn't have access to all what she needs to make such videos from her home.

I recently watched a 'mashup' of both Freddie and Angelina inter spliced and together and she hangs in there right with him; sometimes note for note. Of course she is incapable of replicating Freddie's catalogue but her performance here is spectacular and effortless. It doesn't diminish Freddie to say so. Just my opinion.

While this is not my favorite Angelina performance (that's "California Dreamin'"), it is in my Top 5. And I believe it is her most technically perfect performance: tone, range, pitch, and incredible breathe control. The backing track gives it a karaoke flavor. And while she does some rare belting in this performance, she does so effortlessly and pitch perfect. Let's say you've stopped into the club on karaoke night, and this pretty young girl steps up to the mike, and then this happens. And jaws drop in sync; people coming in off the street to hear this incredible sound. This is just a complete WOW! moment. Freddie's performance has a very different taste, and I would never say Angelina's is better. But I do like it just as much. No matter how many times I hear this young phenom sing, I'm always blown away. That hasn't happened to me in a long time (Buddy Holly, Linda Ronstadt, and Karen Carpenter). I really love your comment on comparing artists, so true and so wise. With regards to belting, she doesn't do that very often, and I'm not to sure if she really spend to much time perfecting it either. Gotta say "Go Blind" is one of my favorites! I just love the funky, jazzy sound...very much like Etta James voice sounded after 50-60 years of wear and tear. They have her sound in old age somewhere here on KZbin but you have to search around for it as I cannot remember what she was singing. It is amazing to me how jazz and blues singers sometimes sound better with their old rough voices!

Nice reaction. Not her normal fare but she brought it. I think her forte of bringing emotion is still reflected here, especially to a song where Freddie knew he was dying. It's not in my top tier but it impresses. Folks have suggested a couple to highlight belting. Enjoy! They're both good. You'll get to the others that allow her to share emotion like few (if any) ever have (and this as a preteen/teen). You already have all the links from previous reactions. Her superfans are wonderful that way. I just ask that you stay on this train. It'll be fun!!

She sang amazing on this song as she always does, I think had she had a band with her instead of a track it would have been even better because her magic is her rearrangement of a cover but keeping a certain essence of the original alive, but with a track, she can't do that as much. She was able to do her magic on Bohemian Rhapsody even though it was short because of AGT's time limit.

Another admirable feature of her is, she (and we) know she is fantastic at classical Jazz and Blues music, but she doesn't just stick to that. She investigates a whole range of other genres, always well, often as well as the best. Then she starts mixing genres (Yellow Brick Road, this one, etc) and mixing useful parts of several styles to put songs clearly across. And, with much of the music she does, for some reason it is the first time I actually hear and understand lyrics.

you are so right, it is unfair to compare cause the versions are excellent each on their own, and they are completely different artists, absolutely amazing in their own ways, just like you just don't compare Aurora and Angelina too, they are both young queens. I agree, Angelina did a wonderful. I consider four to six singers are at this level where I recognize their unique voice currently. As you said Dimash, and of course Angelina, Lara Fabian, Diana Ankudinova, Floor Jansen lead current lead singer of symphonic metal and Nughtwish. Others may be in this group for one or two songs but all of these singers have been consistently great, wonders, and/or amazing. There are many talented singers who sing beautifully but these four or five just stand out.

(I rarely subscribe to reactors although I watch many. But, I also saw your ‘apology’ on the Spell video in your comments, so you deserve respect for that. It’s also interesting to see your change in attitude towards Angelina after you have watched a few of her videos! She gives you some little bit of belt which she only rarely uses such as this. For extended belting try I Have Nothing the Whitney cover. This is mild.

I have a suggestion I never thought I would, because I'm not a huge fan of the song, "Unchained Melody". But, I listened to Angelina's version, and it literally left me breathless. Have a listen. :)

You are absolutely correct--it's not about one artist being "better" than another, it's about how each individual is moved or not moved by the work of a particular artist. For me, Angelina belongs in a highly important place in musical history. Listening to anything she sings causes my emotional armour to fly to the edge of oblivion.

I always loved that cover, so much emotional power. And she even made herself sound like him. The only sad part of the record deal is that UMG probably wont allow reaction videos on her new material. They are well know for copyright strikes. I'm curious if facebooks recently anounced new video platform can offer any improvement through their licensing deal with the label companies over the copyright mess on youtube.

Angelina has my favourite cover of this song, I love it as much as the original. She has a haunted, mystic tone to her voice here that is perfect for the song. Yes I have heard Dimash sing this, didn't like it at all. No matter how impressive his vocal abilities are, it just doesn't sound right to me in most songs I've heard so far. The exceptions being SOS and Screaming, I love those.
