This is so precious, in two ways, one is Angelina, the other is you. How often nowadays can we watch a girl sing her heart out without any prejudice, how often can we see pure talent without auto-tune, how often can we see someone on stage without any PR schemes? This girl is so precious, I wish her success, although I know that not always the talented ones get famous, and I pray to God that the music industry doesn't destroy her. Her doing Billie is amazing of course. But she even had me feelin' a soulful "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" by Elton John and "Bohemian Rhapsody" on America's Got Talent-Champions. Whaaaat?! Even Simon was "singing" her praises. I hope her family can protect her. She has an especially unique gift of presence and musicianship that comes 'round very rarely on this planet.

Angelina is 8 here and she sings in English! She is amazing in many ways. That's her third of 5 language. You know she's from Norway. There, everyone speaks Norwegian. From the age of 6, Angelina READ, WRITE and SING English texts and understand what everything means! After the win in NGT, many tried to sign a contract with her! They came flying to Norway in their private jets! But they were allowed to go home without a contract. Even Disney. Angelina and her family already decided then, that she would have as normal childhood as possible.

Yes, Polo, you are right, she will be considered to be the GOAT in a few more years. There are many incredible vocalists out there, but no one emotes like Angelina. She makes you not only hear her vocals, she makes you feel her vocals like no one else. She is 16 now, a recording artist for Republic Records since she was 14. At her family's request they they are not promoting her yet while she finishes her schooling. I'm not sure, but I believe she graduates HS early, this June & if that's the case, she will be blasting off. She has a long-awaited album coming out soon & she has 3 concerts scheduled this July in Norway, the first since the Pandemic began. This performance was a few months after Angelina won Norway's Got Talent and her introduction to the American audience. Please take the time to read my updated biography for my all time favorite musical artist. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman. Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on KZbin. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz. Mery Zamani is Iranian and was considered a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina speaks Norwegian, Farsi, English, Japanese and Swedish. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. Angelina plays the piano, violin, guitar and flute and also paints. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 6 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on KZbin went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. A 9 years and 2 months old, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a KZbin video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on KZbin. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. On KZbin, search on The Complete Works of Angelina Jordan as Rusty Shackleford has put all songs in one file and has a complete playlist in the description of that video. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram Angelina has concerts scheduled in Norway in July 2022. Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be. Wonderful first reaction Polo. Angelina is a "tour de force" and this is a great example of what this young music genius is capable of.....but you haven't even scraped the surface yet.. She is already a Master Class voclalist (sorry, not singer, there are lots of them) at the current age of 16 but pretty much master class going back to her 7-8 year old performances on Norway Got Talent. When she was 10 she did " I'm still holding out for you" . This song was written by artist Baby Fuzz, and given to Angelina to record a demo. Angelina never released the song herself, her mom didnt want it cause the last part is about suicide, but this video was made by a fan using the leaked audio from the demo. It shows her vocal ability. But if you do some more of AJ, you will understand why they call her the angel whit the 1000 voices and the barefoot princess.

Angelina is a typical 8-year-old Norwegian girl who understands English and speaks with just a hint of a British accent. Then she takes the stage. In a split second, she becomes this 30-year-old professional jazz singer with a completely different American voice, confident and relaxed, and delivers the song with precise timing, perfect pitch, and much emotion. She has arranged the song so that it starts out slowly, switches to jazz/blues, and gently builds in tempo, amplitude, and pitch to the finale (where she very unusually ran out of air). It is over and again, in a split second, she is the little eight-year-old again. There is no explaining that. She says that when she sings, she goes to a really nice place where she feels good. There really is a homemade video of a few seconds of Angelina at age 1-1/2 with a toy microphone in her hand singing the Whitney Houston song "I Will Always Love You." From age 7, when she first auditioned for Norway's Got Talent, to the present 16 years old, she has steadily increased her prowess as a vocal artist until her age is irrelevant. She is now a world-class star. And humble, and kind, and a bit shy. Her contract with Republic Records should bring her international acclaim.

Thanks for a great reaction. You really got her and were moved by her. You would love the 4 songs she sang in Norway's Got Talent just to fully get who she was at this age. They are all together in one video but make sure you choose the one with translations so you can understand the judges. They were blown away. She started with Billie Holiday's Gloomy Sunday (by the way all songs picked by her and in all her covers on KZbin she is the one who arranges the music .. if she's with a band, she arranges everyone's music. She does it beautifully and there is not a hair of diva in this now young lady .. she is humble and insanely talented. The other songs she sings on Norway's Got Talent are I'm a Fool to Want You (sung acapella), Bang, Bang, and Summertime .. all of which will leave you speechless and/or crying. Many people will recommend Screaming Jay Hawkin's song I Put a Spell on You. It is brilliant and you should indeed see it. She was 9. I don't have words for that magnificent (oops .. there's a word!) performance. Then at 10 she has many extraordinary songs .. Feeling Good is one of them. With those 6 songs you have a perfect foundation for going forth and experiencing her life and her brilliance and her talent. Angelina performs barefoot because at age 6, in Japan, I believe .. she saw a begging girl on the street and stopped to talk to her. She had no shoes and Angelina gave her hers. She told the girl that she would sing barefoot until all children have shoes. The girl promised to pray for her to reach her dream, which was to sing for everyone in the world. She is 16 now and she has not broken that promise. She does fundraisers for poor children and has raised an amazing amount for them. She is an angel. Fly me to the Moon has become the most sung song in Angelina's repetoire. The best performance is the one done on request by Quincy Jones on his 85th birthday. He requested that she (at 12 years old) open for him in the O2 Arena and use the arrangement that he had done for Frank Sinatra so many years ago. We do not have (good) video of his birthday party, but the audio was on FM and some clever person recorded it. Funny you should use the word "superstar". That's what she has said she's wanted to be for most of her life, now - at least since she was 6 (not sure how young she was when she first said it). It's a little weird, though… because as you see more of her, you will no doubt begin to notice how humble and down-to-earth she seems (not to mention a little shy). The idea that this girl wants to be a "superstar" might start to feel a bit incongruous. The solution to the paradox is the second part of the statement, which I have not quoted yet: she wants to be a "superstar" who can "sing for the whole world". Ah, of course… She doesn't want to be a superstar for the fame and fortune and attention (although she deserves every bit of that she can handle). She wants to be a superstar so she can share her love of music - and, in particular, beautiful vocals - with as many people as possible (not to mention to be able to do and inspire other forms of "good" in the world - but that's a topic for another day). Anyway… makes perfect sense when viewed from that perspective.

Angie is a very kind, giving, loving, respectful, humble & a big hearted Christian girl.
