That tour had THE MOST Badass Babymetal outfits. They looked like Warrior Goddesses.

All of their costumes are based on samurai armors! That's why they always look like Warrior Goddesses. Even the chestplates above the red tutus, there was always something in the outfits that came from ancient armors. Maybe not the first Doki-Doki-Morning or Iine costumes, but everything after that. You should see BABYMETAL - IN THE NAME OF (LIVE AT DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL 2018). That silly hat is actually a very close copy of one of the best known Japanese warrior, his armor is fully preserved and displayed in a museum. Great reaction as always, thanks! Their time slot at DL festival 2018 was 16:45 - 17:30 on Saturday at Zippo Encore stage. I admit not being very fan of the song, the 2018 outfits (I believe it's because of the headbands) or the in line choreo plus the two side dancers. BUT I have to thank them for their determination on continuing despite all what happened. That allowed me to discover them a little later and eventually become a fan. Now, I'm about to fulfill a life dream (in part thanks to them): to visit Japan and, of course, I'm going to see them there. 😊 Until next time! 🤘🦊

Nice reaction. I liked this performance and the outfits. I didn't care for the headdress. If they still had them now. When Moa did her deep headbangs that headdress would go flying off. Su in an interview said she didn't care for this choreography because she couldn't see Moa most of the time. Apparently after Yui left she wanted to keep an eye on Moa. But we also know Moa liles her stage shenanigans so we can understand why she would want to keep an eye on her. However, I think in the interview Moa agreed she didn't care for this choreography either because when she move in front she couldn't see what everyone else was doing as well. No worries though. This didn't last that long. As the metal galaxy album was released they would soon get the avenger dancers. And 1 album later one of them would become the new official 3rd member. Yeah Momometal. Now give me a big circle.

They weren't sweating possibly because it was the second song in their set. They came out and performed In The Name Of, which is instrumental and no dancing. Distortion was the second song, and it's impressive how the crowd reacted at the start of their set. Babymetal just brings it. I loved the outfits too. Goddesses.

_Show me big circle!_ 🦊👇💫🏃‍♂️ Glad to see you're back with more BM songs, this time going back to Metal Galaxy 3rd album. This song is a banger and Japanese fans really like this song, they usually play this in their concerts such in all setlist of the World Tour 2023, and they're definitely gonna rocking out this year at Download Festival once again. This was in 2018 when YuiMetal about to leave the band for good, sadly. Usually this song came after "In The Name Of" intro during live performance, is part of the Dark Side of this Metal Galaxy album and got Sepultura vibes, a tribute to another Brazilian metal band that the creator love and respect. Distortion was supposed to be a live premiere song with YuiMetal dancing at Legend S 2017 SuMetal 20th birthday, but that never happened. Song talks about internal and external conflicts in your own mind, and another face of SuMetal, that's why KobaMetal choose another singer to represent the other side with the growls. The 3rd album Metal Galaxy and live performance version after 2019 got the growlings collaboration of Alissa White-Gluz from Arch Enemy. There's also and official MV but none of the girls featured there only CGI and images related to the Chosen Seven lore, so don't mind reacting to it, you can watch it in your own time if you want, is still kinda cool. This drastic costume changes was during Dark Side era, and they're looking so badass. After this tour, dancers were replaced by a new set of dancers rotation system called _avengers,_ but none of them have a mic or sing, they just dance, but in this era and live tour they were backing up by these two backup dancers called "muscle-metal" by the fans, during big live concert at "Dark Night Carnival" 2018 they put more dancers and a temporary dancer filling the third spot of YuiMetal. Here MoaMetal was dancing behind SuMetal. The Kami Band there were: ISAO and Takayoshi Ohmura on guitars. BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums, the only change here was ISAO because Mikio Fujioka (a beloved Kami Band guitarist) past away by this time (R.I.P.), it was really a "dark side era" when this two sad events came to this group, without YuiMetal and Mikio the guitarist. Btw probably this song took some inspiration from Children Of Bodom - Trashed, Lost And Strungout, so it is melodic death metal. Next suggestion: - YAVA! with Kami Band intro live at Fox Festival 2017 See you next time.🦊🤘🔥

Distortion is such a good track, and the crowd partipation live is something best experienced, it's like nothing else. Momo is having a 21st birthday concert in March, and she's almost definitely going to be singing Headbanger solo, so you should definitely keep an eye out for when footage of that comes out! I sure am!

2018 was their third time at Download. DragonForce smuggled them in in 2015 and invited them on stage to play 'Gimme Chocolate', they were on the main stage in the rain in 2016. They would have been there in 2020, but obviously that was cancelled.

I had completely forgotten just how epic this performance is. Amazing vocals, cool costumes, insane, incredibly precise, and synchronized choreo despite having even more people than usual, and Su's flawless crowd control blow me out of the water. More Babymetal please :)

This song has become a classic one at recent shows, hasn't it? I'm getting used to it myself, lol. In any case, as you know, the footages from 2018 are precious. It is said that Moa has changed around there... The support dancers, 'Muscle Metal', were a big part of it, apparently. By the way, it will be 'Legend MM' in two weeks! I'll be there for both days for the first time! I still can not have got Monday off though... Thank you from Japan!

I prefer a Bloodstock crowd. Not overcrowded and a more chill atmosphere. I've not done download for years and don't plan to to be honest. Would love to see Babymetal do a Bloodstock one year.

Though this costume had garnered some hate, I do love it.... definitely didn't like the hair style of the Dark Night Carnival Era.... As you can see, Su's crowd control wasn't quite at full power, she actually had to tell the crowd she wanted a big circle... Now go checkout Distortion from the Metal Galaxy concert... all she did was twirl her finger, and pits were opening up all over the place... The Metal Galaxy concert was awesome for Road of Resistance and IDZ, the had both Western and Eastern kamibands on stage and all the Avengers. 😁😁🤘🦊🤘
